1977 Trans Am SE (14 Original Miles) Sells For $440K

Bought my 78 TA just before Smokey and the Bandit came out for 7200.00 loaded brand new! The stealership had 110 in stock! Yes it was a dog, but just as the above poster said a few mods and it was a real runner. High 12's on skinny street tires with a trap speed of 112 mph wasn't too slow back...

1968 Chevrolet COPO Nova SS 396

That particular Nova was at least exciting under acceleration. But that generation drives like a truck, wallowing understeer and poor brakes. I think it looks great, though...

Any specific type and brand of oil to prevent oil burning (00 corolla with worn piston rings)

Twas me i would at least try some heavier Maxlife or similar. Many high hp engines we race use oil at nearly that rate if we whip them. But as per above you may simply be too worn...

Usefulness of running radiator fans after shutdown?

One of the many egoboost innovations that Ford made note of in their documentation is the use of "thermo-syphon" strategy in the ngines. The idea is that the engine cooling system is constructed so as to allow flow due to high heat to move the coolant through the system and avoid severe heat...

Are clutches and clutch components maintenance wear items?

All I have to go on is several manually shifted cars in my past. IME most cars clutches can easily last the life of the drivetrain if driven properly. Even high horsepower cars like a GTO and a Vette I had great clutch life. Other folks wear them out really fast...

Insurance company refuses to provide breakdown of value on totaled vehicle.

I have had a ridiculous lowball offer on a car stolen from us. A quick call to my agent (State Farm) and the offer was properly updated in minutes. I have also had a similar experience with a totaled work van and I had to complain loudly to my agent and to the other company (I do not recall...

    2018 telematic module issue.

All the modules were disconnected, battery was replaced, etc. We originally thought it was the battery cables or connections due to our experience with these vehicles. The factory battery was leaking as there was a tiny bit of corrosion on the negative connection and everyone knows how crazy the...

    New battery, peppier engine?

What do you remember of your grand parents?

some of my finest childhood memories were at either of my Grandparents homes. Great fun, fabulous cooking, and I almost never got in trouble for anything! Sadly it all ended by 18 or so. But the memories are awesome!

    Tire rotation

Rotation is very dependent on the vehicle and tires being considered. If FWD it seems mandatory on almost anything but on my 4000 pound rwd sedan it is completely unnecessary unless you are showing off a lot.

Are Michelins really better than the other brands?

A great tire to be sure, but having had three sets of PSS on a Vette and my sig car I can say IMO the 4s is truly remarkable. And instead of wearing out at 6k to 10k these 4s' go 30!!!

    5.7 Hemi cams

The opinion is shared by the master cam grinder at Howard's cams. They are very old drag racing friends of ours and i believe they are correct. He had both lifters and cam to examine, as he ground us a brand new one!

    5.7 Hemi cams

In my limited new gen Hemi experience the cam metallurgy is very questionable. I am rebuilding the 6.1 in my 300 and had similar but much lesser wear and damage in my cam and lifters. All the roller lifters seemed flawless, but the cam was wiped out on one lobe only. It had a strange nearly...
