I see no reason to run 5w20. I will not run it in the winter as it will usually be stored. Oil has changed a lot since the 20w spec. I agree that 15w40 is a good choice for this motor considering what folks here have said and what others have told me. If I do run it in the winter, I will use T6...

Yep, mine has a filter that came stock from the factory. I bought it from a guy who had it in the family since new. It is all original and has 64K original miles. I'll try to upload pictures.

I just picked up an all original '54 Bel Air with the 235 I-6. What oil should I use in it? I typically run synthetic in everything I own, but I have a case of Valvoline All Fleet 15w40... would the HDEO be alright for this motor? Thanks!

I have "heard" that the non LE is better than the LE formula, but I cannot confirm this, nor can I find it to buy it either. Walmart carries it, but it is the LE formula.

Just took mine out, did not notice anything unusual in 4wd.

I've been running the Purolator Pure One on my Kohler since new 2-1/2 years ago with no trouble. The Purolator is cheaper I believe.

I have the same ATV, I do not think mine makes excessive noise, but I have rarely used 4wd on it. I'll have to check this weekend, since I need to change the oil anyhow.

It is going in rear axles and front differentials in several different vehicles I own. I have not seen it at Pep Boys or Walmart unfortunately.

Does anyone know where to locally purchase Pennzoil 75w90 gear oil? I am having a tough time finding it. Thanks!

In my 09 Cobalt, I have been using Mobil 1 and Purolator Pure One filters... the filter is a US Made filter.

I was at PB today and a guy working there argued that it is the same exact oil, made for PB by Quaker State. I was told that long ago as well but not sure that it is in fact the same nor is it made by QS. Who knows??
