6 Best Selling Oils retested at PQIA

Quaker State wins the volatility test over them all. Look at how much more magnesium is in Castrol Edge. Double the amount or more in all the others.

Any Warren oil is just as good as any other out there. Why waste more money?

Super Tech 5W30 Synthetic vs. QSUD 5W30 ?

Popular names Warren Distribution makes are first, their own brand Mag1, SuperTech, STP Full Synthetic, Federated Auto Parts Full Synthetic and now Amazon Basics. They all have the same Dexos 1 Gen 2 license numbers. https://www.gmdexos.com/owner/brands/dexos1/index.html

    Early oil change

If you are ever at the point where you are questioning whether or not you need to do an oil change, do an oil change. It's peace of mind and giving your engine fresh, clean oil. Never a bad thing.

Super Tech 5W30 Synthetic vs. QSUD 5W30 ?

So many oils are much more similar than we think. I called Mag1 again yesterday to ask how long could I keep Mag1 Synthetic Blend in my ecoboost Mustang. He said go by the owner's manual. He wouldn't give me mileage numbers. I asked if Mag1 Synthetic Blend was as good as Motorcraft Synthetic...

Amazon Basics vs Mobil1 vs Valvoline conv. Simple test

I will delete my post since somebody else already put this up. I didn't realize it was already up. I don't see how to delete my thread. Sorry for littering a little extra here.

Amazon Basics vs Mobil1 vs Valvoline conv. Simple test

https://youtu.be/a9DWGtXpYUc All 10W30 but, Valvoline is not synthetic. Amazon oil made by Warren hangs right with Mobil1 in cold pour and heat evaporation test.

I called Mag1 today about SN Plus certification

I don't know about the demos cert number but, have heard on this site that Warren Distribution makes both Mag1 and Supertech. I have read here that some say Supertech has been made by Warren and other times by another manufacturer. Mag1 is Warren Distribution's flagship product.

I called Mag1 today about SN Plus certification

1, Well, they do have to compete with others so I was expecting him to say between 3000 and some other figure. 2, Yes, 7000-10000 miles for normal commuting with highway driving. No or moderate load or towing. Flat to moderately hilly roads and no extended idling. 5000-7000 miles for moderate...

I called Mag1 today about SN Plus certification

I asked a technician what had to be done to their oils to make them SN Plus certified. He said they had to make a chemistry detergent change. Less calcium More magnesium I then asked if their synthetic blend would be ok to run in my Mustang ecoboost. He said yes but won't last as long as...

How hot does an engine need to get to eliminate fuel dilution?

Has anybody used any of the new SN Plus formula oils? Wondering if they help with gas in oil dilution. I still have one more oil change to do with leftover Mag1 full synthetic that is the old formula that is not SN Plus. All of their new formulas are SN Plus.

Premium fuel reducing oil fuel dilution effect?

I just figured the cost of 93 octane over 87 right now where I am in Virginia is about 40 cents more per gallon. I converted that to about 1.2 cents per mile more by getting 30 mpg in my ecoboost Mustang. Yes, I cruise and try to keep it light footed and try to get good MPGs. Anyway, premium...

Why do you use the oil brand you use?

I have been using Mag1 full synthetic but, going to switch to Quaker State Ultimate Durability.

    Scotty Kilmer hawks Amazon Basics.

I have watched a fair amount of his videos and he's basically been giving decent advice. He says he's been a mechanic for 51 years now so, he knows something. I tried one of his tips and used Nu Finish on my windshield and he was right. It was the slickest I have ever had my windshield but, it...

    Scotty Kilmer hawks Amazon Basics.

Kilmer gave his review of the Amazon oil. I thought he was correct about pretty much everything he said. I don't care about his number of views. Just what he says. Most of what he says is right. He tried the oil. Said it was good but, also admitted there are a lot of other good oils out there...

Lubrizol says SN PLUS and GF-6 not enough for LSPI protection in TGDI engines

The tune is the main factor in lspi. Make sure you run factory tunes and don't try to squeeze extra horsepower out of a small engine that already has plenty of horsepower. Here is an example of over 300,000 miles. 385,000 as of writing this...

Are Ford 2.0L EcoBoost engines hard on oil?

My wife has a 2014 Ford Escape 2.0L ecoboost and I have a 2018 Ford Mustang 2.3L ecoboost. Both of these ecoboost turn oil black way quicker than the non turbo 2011 V6 Mustang I had before this 2018 Mustang. That 2011 V6 Mustang would go 5000-7000 miles before turning black. Both of our ecoboost...

    Let’s start 10k, 15k and 20k OCI clubs.

I think I'll join the club of seeing how fresh I can keep my oil in my ecoboost Mustang. Somewhere between 3000 and 6000 miles. Probably will go 5000 miles. These turbo engines turn that oil black way faster than non turbo engines. I had a 2011 V6 Mustang before the 2018 ecoboost 4 cylinder...
