Fuel filter C&P. Clark FJ-2S. EMD SD-40-2 locomotive. Unkown service interval.

That's a lot of trash in the filter. Is this normal? Seems to be some pretty contaminated fuel.

What are NEMA 6-20 250V receptacles used for?

20 amps at 240v is 40 amps at 120v, so it's capable of delivering a lot more power than your normal 15 amp 120v outlet.

There is so little variation in your data that it isn't significant. We have no way to know how much lab error is in your data, so there is no way to account for it and there is lab error. No UOA data is 100% accurate. The average Fe is 1.62 so 2.06 is only 0.44 ppm/1k miles above the...

    Don’t buy Temu drill bits

I have only seen drill bits break, not bend. Your bent bit probably was not hardened correctly.

What are you eating right now?

The orientation tag in the exif data from your camera/phone is telling the browser how to display the image. If you rotate the image and save it the orientation tag will be changed and it will display correctly.

What is this odd but neat style of subdivision house called exactly.

Those lots are a LOT larger than where my wife grew up in Berwyn.

What is this odd but neat style of subdivision house called exactly.

In Chicagoland they call that type of house a bungalow. My wife grew up on this block, it looks the same as it did in 1965. https://maps.app.goo.gl/GxFdqrwVap5avYFo7

    Slight rust on camshafts

Frankly, the cams all look like they are junk. Lots of pitting and scoring. I guess it depends on what life you expect out of the engine. If it's a short term engine that is going to the boneyard, then run it. If you expect a long life then junk the cams. However, I'd want to completely go...

You mean, "Oh, I didn't realize I was shutting the fuel off to the engines"?

    Kirkland/K&N 0w-20, 15.2k mi; 2016 Mazda 3 2.0 w/123k mi

Iron of roughly 1 ppm/1k miles is very good and the other metals are far lower. Metals are of no concern. There were two quarts of make-up oil, which somewhat replenished the additives. Oxidation of 14 is medium if you consider 25 a condemnation limit. Zero concern with this oil change...

Rapidly onboard JP-5 to USS Abraham Lincoln

I met a B1B pilot that said the highest fuel flow he ever saw was a sea-level with full AB which was 398,000 lb/hr. That's 60,000 gallon/hr.

Rapidly onboard JP-5 to USS Abraham Lincoln

Read "Tanker Pilot" and you'll have a whole new appreciation for how much fuel military jets consume.

F-150 payload and towing; within limits?

The weight on the trailer needs to be more forward. Never load evenly over the axle.

I followed this lifted Lexus today down the Thompson River Gorge. Nobody would believe if I didn't have a photographic evidence.

    Relic from the lubrication industry

Both of my sets of grandparents lived a block apart. They were all wonderful people that had a profound effect on me. I still think of them and miss them. When I go back to my home town, I will drive past their houses and remember. Now my job is to be that kind of grandparent for my grand kids.

    Relic from the lubrication industry

These pictures remind me of my Grandfather's shop. Ah the smells... What I would give to have another hour in that shop with my Grandfather.
