    Here is the most current manual for the EU2000 series. See pg#49 http://cdn.powerequipment.honda.com/pe/pdf/manuals/00X31Z396000.pdf Clearly shows that 5W-30 and 10W-30 is to be used for the full range of air temps, and SJ spec is called out. The only other oil ok'd is straight 30W. No other...

    That is an 8 yo manual. Mine sez I'm GTG. I use the same 5W-30 that goes in my cars.

    Oh-Maybe keeping the maker's warranty comes to mind with using the 'correct' oil. Know what you say about easy pull start in cold weather. Born and raised, in Colorado. LG

    For another 10 cents a gallon. Run prem. Also, prem has less Ethanol in the fuel. Prem is also a better choice for any air cooled engine. Your choice-Do as you wish. LG

    Did you read the owners manual where it sez to use 5W-30 or 10W-30 oil? I use 5W-30 in my Honda gennys. No noise at all and I run mine in 110* heat all day long. Change the oil............ Run prem fuel. LG

    The rattle can be oil issue if the genny is not level. Also, fill the oil till it's at the treads of the filler. LG

    OP-With your Honda genny. The fuel shut off and engine shut off are the same switch. Honda has sold how many gennys? LG

    Vacuum gauge reading fluctuating...

    IF your are carbed.. Make sure BOTH of your idle mix. screws are set the same. FWIW: a 2 point swing is not a big deal. Respectfully, LG
