    Stout 5w30 meeting SN+

My Wrangler with the 2.0 turbo specs a SN+ 5w30. I plan on towing with it frequently and am wondering if there are 5w30 oils out there that are known to be more stout than some others.

    Semi budget tires 215/70/16

My 18 year old son needs tires for his 2013 CRV. This is a teaching moment about responsibilities and I'm not buying his tires. He can swing about $400 for the set of 4. My first thought is RT43s at $106 a piece at DTD. What else should we be looking at in that price range? Wet weather...

    Filter for 5000 miles

2018 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.0 liter turbo engine. I think I'm going to go with a 5000 mile oci. I've been using Fram Ultras for a few years on other vehicles but running longer oci. The Ultra seems like a waste for such a short oci. The Ultra part number is XG10060

    5w-30 for 2.0T Jeep Wrangler

Any 5w-30 SN+ better than the others for a 2018 Wrangler with the 2.0T engine? A TGDI engine is something new to me.

    Onan generator

I have a 5500 watt Onan generator in my toy hauler. It's coming up on its first oil change. In my climate I can use either 15w-40 or SAE 30. Both are readily available to me. Any compelling reason to choose one over the other?

    Husqvarna vs Toro

I need a new walk behind mower. I'm looking at Lowe's and Home Depot. Lowe's sells Husqvarna and HD has Toro. Any compelling reason to choose one over the other? HD also sells a mid level Honda that may be in my price range I'm trying to stay under $400

SynPower 0w-20 for potential 10K mile OCI

I plan on following the OLM in my wife's '17 Grand Cherokee with the Pentastar V6. The manual recommends a maximum of 10K miles if the OLM doesn't trigger. She drives 20K+ miles per year. I'm guessing either by OLM or the recommended max, the OCI will be close to 10K Being under warranty, I'm...

    2017 Grand Cherokee 3.6 Pentastar

Is there a 0w-20 that's better than the rest in this application? I didn't see much in the UOA forum.

Larger battery the answer for 2013 CR-V?

Our CR-V has the original 51R sized battery. Its going on 45 months of service. No real complaints with the battery, but the charging system seems to be marginal. There are a lot of complaints about low/dead batteries on late model CR-Vs. The battery in ours generally runs about 12.25v A popular...

    Are Cooper CS5 LRR?

Looking at a set of the CS5 Grand Tourings for my CR-V I haven't seen anything that points to them being a LRR tire. Does anyone know? I emailed Cooper a few days ago and haven't heard back.

    Oil consumption LML Duramax

I have a 2011 2500HD with the LML Duramax. Currently doing 1 year OCIs which is roughly 10K miles. This also coincides with the OLM saying its getting time for an oil change.. The truck is rarely driven without a trailer behind it, generally running 20-21K lbs combined. I've been using Rotella...

    GM 2500HD 75w-90 or 75w-110

I need to change the gear oil in my 2011 2500HD. GM recommends a synthetic 75w-90 for the 11.5" AAM. Currently about 40K miles on M1 75w-90. Most of this trucks miles are towing a fifth wheel or boat. Both are 10,000+ lbs which is about 60% of what the truck is rated to tow. I'm planning on...

    Beginner looking for a DSLR

Its time to start taking better quality pictures than what I'm getting with my P&S. I need something capable of capturing the fast pace of youth sports. Costco has a couple nice looking bundles on Nikon or Canon. What do I need to be looking for?

    That final car payment

Made that final payment this morning. We financed my wife's Camry in 2011. We were prepared to pay cash, but Toyota offered us 0% financing so we took it. Even at 0% interest, car payments suck.

    Maintaining power-sport batteries

I've got a shop full of various power-sport toys with low Ah batteries. What is the best style of charger to keep these batteries in shape? The shop rarely gets below 50 in the winter or above 80 in the summer,so I'm not sure how critical temperature compensating is. Being low Ah,maybe...

    Cree customer service

    Coffee bean storage

I bought a Capresso burr grinder the other day. The bowl will hold a couple cups of beans. The instructions with the grinder say that you can store the beans in the bowl for two weeks before the beans lose their aroma. For our use,a bowl full of beans will only last a couple days. After...

    Playing with my Bradley smoker.

I fired up my Bradley smoker the other night and smoked some baby backs. When they were done I cold smoked some cheese for Christmas gifts. Cheddar,Pepper Jack, and Colby Jack. A couple hours of apple smoke for the cheese. Smoked cheese it pretty harsh when fresh. I vacuum pack it and let it...

    Tired of the road noise

Our '13 CR-V has OEM Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sports. I don't have any real issue with them other than road noise. They're a noisy tire. They're considerably louder than the Blizzak DMV-1 snow tires that are currently on the CR-V. I'm pretty sure I won't even bother putting the Bridgestones...
