Thanks for helping choosing a vehicle back in 2021

Over the years , I worked with a few accounting MBAs that were also a CPA who made awful personal financial decisions. . I guess I had better expectations?

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

Blatant negligence from a company running a complete rotbox for a limo shouldn't translate into stupid laws and regulations for the average DIY'er but we all know it will. How much would it have cost the company to put new brake lines and calipers/pads/rotors on that?

Right to Repair - Ford’s Jim Farley

I believe the state outlawed stretch limousines entirely now? I remember that was crazy when it happened. Sketchy repairs on a vehicle transporting a lot of people ... no good. Are limos held to the same standard as buses? Guess it doesn't matter when the guy runs stuff that was placed out of...

Finally got one of the new USPS mail delivery trucks...

I believe it's actually retaliation. We have a handful of complaints in with this postal carrier. But whatever. We have to play their game to get our mail.

Finally got one of the new USPS mail delivery trucks...

We stopped getting mail delivered. Again. Apparently these tall mail trucks hit a branch near the mailbox and stopped delivering mail. The postal carrier had a letter to put in our mailbox letting us know about the tree ... but didn't put it in the mailbox because they were refusing delivery ...

    Slate EV Pickup

I hope---if it actually comes out--it doesn't get Maverick'd once it ends up being popular.

    Gas Price pics

I drove my truck for a week ... $130 later. Phew! It doesn't get driven much so it gets ethanol free. Around here, ethanol free is only 90 or 91 so its comes with a premium. Sticking to the Mercury which isn't much better. I'm regretting the Dorman intake.

    Mower height for grass/clover lawns.

I have a spot that has a hard time growing due to shade, not due to lack of water. However the lawn has to be mowed at the lowest setting so it dries up quicker when we get rain.

It never gets any easier letting someone go

A previous job of mine learned the hard way that you can't revoke that privilege from good earners. CEO didn't want work from home for his salespeople. He had us measure every possible metric on the salespeople. Hands down, they all produced significantly more sales and leads on days they were...

    passport application

I can't get the Real ID from my state because neither my birth certificate nor my social security card have my middle name on them. Maybe I don't officially have a middle name officially!? SSA says to speak to the county to get a corrected birth certificate. County says get an updated social...

Talk me out of using 0w-20 in my Explorer 2.3T (specs 5w-30)

On a GTDI engine, upping the octane will increase fuel economy.

Talk me out of using 0w-20 in my Explorer 2.3T (specs 5w-30)

I'm using 0w-20 in my 255,000 mile Ford 5.4L. There's something awry under the drivers side valve cover. If I cold start it with 5w-30 or higher it makes weird noises on cold mornings. 0w-20 it doesn't. A 2 valve 5.4 with an oil cooler that was originally spec'd for 5w-20 probably isn't a great...

People who trade in vehicles after 0-2 years for silly reasons. Are people really this bad with finances?

Back in 2011, I put a lot of miles on a Focus I bought brand new for under $15000! Reimbursement rate for me was $.58 a mile. The car more than paid for itself , insurance, maintenance. Im not sure thats viable today. A $11000 car already has 250,000 miles today

    GM 6.2L troubles aren't over.

Toyota is just replacing a bunch of engines without them failing as far as I have heard. Good way to be. Not giving people the runaround. Are they footing the supplier with the bill like they did with frames? Dana got really screwed on that mess.
