    Post your latest oil change

2024 Tundra: Out- Dealer 0w20 In- VRP 5w30 Did not change the filter as the dealer had just changed the oil. I double checked, there is a "Mighty" branded oil filter on there so I know they did it! But wanted to get the 0W20 out of there. 21,229 miles.

Wish me luck. 2014 navigator oil change

Yes you very well might be able to slide under without lifting. I don't remember these being too difficult, I have serviced my nieces 2007 F-150 many times. Biggest recommendations are be safe and double check your work. And of course check for leaks after it's running 👍

    Toyota Oil Filters

Hi all, Have 2 Toyotas in the fleet currently. Was looking into the Toyo Filter and overall consenus is positive. I'm aware that they have a higher flow rating but lower filtering efficiency. I'm not usually too particular with filters but this got me curious. For a Toyota, is flow more...

DIYAutoworksNG - Redline SI-1 Cylinder & Injector Borescope Results

Those are some truly good results, like you said the injectors had a huge improvement. Confirmation of why SI-1 is still my go to, thanks for sharing. I've had some success getting vehicles to run better doing back to back treatments as well.

    Review - '18 Mazda CX-9 51k miles

Just hit 90k a couple of days ago, we've now owned it for 3.5 years. The car has needed ZERO repairs done to it. My biggest likes: - The powertrain is smooth and responsive - Comfortable on long trips - Design has aged well, still think she's quite purdy! Dislikes: - A/C performance in very...

Insight needed, 2012 Ram 5.7L Hemi #8 misfire diagnostics

Has cylinder 8 misfire been the issue on all three of the engines? These can sometimes be the rocker/lifter but I would be quite surprised if it was on all 3 engines (unless mfg issue). Is the motor running? Curious how it sounds/runs.

Progressive car insurance, found a way to lower rates

Unfortunately the nature of the beast! I had been with State Farm for 2 years but rates kept creeping up on us. Recently purchased a vehicle and they partner with an insurance broker. I wasn't too confident that it would be fruitful, but we switched and ended up saving us $109/month! I have no...

F-150 payload and towing; within limits?

Experienced the same thing on my old Ram with the 3.6. I think the worst ever was my old 2.3 ranger. I put a very small trailer and I mean very small, almost shocked me how doggy it was. You're right though, The 3.7 is a solid motor 👍

    Carquest Premium 85372 C&P

Very helpful, thank you. On Amazon, I can get a case of 12 Pentius XL's for 59.95. I am good with that!

    Carquest Premium 85372 C&P

Looks good, thank you! Are the Pentius XL filters essentially the same filter? Thinking about these or the PG's for all of vehicles.

    Valvoline R&P 5W-30, 4K OCI, 2025 Subaru Forester

I've noticed with VRP UOA's, wear metal control looks solid. Viscosity also tends to drop, although it may not matter for the everyday car. Are you going to sample again to trend the SI? Looks good to me eyes.

    Best/Worst A/C Performance in a car?

For our current fleet, the 2003 Corolla has surprisingly good A/C. The CX-9 is one of the worst i've experienced. As soon as the temps reach 105 or above, it really struggles. It also doesn't push the air out hard enough. I recall one day 2 summers ago it was about 113 outside and it just quit...

Out with the Diesel LB7 in with the 6.0/ 4L80E

Sorry to hear your woes with the LB7, really like those motors. But that 6.0 he picked up is mint! Always a good sign when the P.O. springs for Michelin tires. Really like the stance more than the LB7 as well. Plus of course; much easier to work on/maintain. Best of luck with the new one and...

Wondering how VRP could have helped vehicles you have owned in the past.

I had a 2000 Corolla many years ago; they were known to burn oil badly, especially with the 3spd auto. Mine started burning around 90k and by 167k it was a quart every 4-500 miles and had bad pre-ignition. Would have interesting to try the VRP although that might have been too great a challenge.

    3-Row SUV for Midlife Crisis

THIS popped up in my area when just looking to see what it is. Very nice vehicle, good price on this one but I'm sure CA prices are different.
