2025 Toyota Tundra SR Loaner - I really hate this truck!

Great review, thank you. I owned a '24 Platinum for about 4 months before I was done with it. The Platinum did address some of the cheap interior material concerns but not all. Some areas felt very flimsy and the volume knob was broken by 21k miles. The headliner also intermittently rattled...

Thoughts on the Silverado 2.7 turbo engine

When I was truck shopping, I drove a bunch of different rigs. The 2.7 impressed me with it's torque, transmission was smooth (2025 model). My only complaints on the test drive was the sound of the motor, and a slight vibration at idle. Not saying they all do it, but that one did with 15,000...

Just purchased a 2012 Nissan Armada Platinum 4x4

Nice score Clutch! I still occasionally miss my 08 Titan, awesome truck.

    My Own Redline SI-1 Test

Even with potential variables, appreciate the effort! Very nice truck by the way, the 2.7 is a gem.

    “Clean your MAF!” - everyone

I have had it resolve some idle issues. The most dramatic was a 2000 Ford Taurus that my brother bought. On the test drive, you could hear really bad detonation. Urged him to look into it further but he persisted on buying it. He brought over to my house, and I cleaned the sensor. Detonation...

Valvoline Restore and Protect - Shortage at Walmart?

Went to a Walmart today to get some, they were out of stock. Other stores were "low stock". Ended up going to AutoZone and purchasing the oil / STP XL filter deal at $37.99.

    Post your latest oil change

2018 Mazda CX-9: Out- Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30/Mazda Filter In- Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30/Premium Guard Filter (4th interval) Drained out the 3rd interval, just shy of 5k miles. Oil was subjectively dark. Happy to report zero oil consumption on this change. Prior to...

any thoughts on a 2016 Toyota Avalon?

Absolutely love that platform. I would consider it at closer to 20k.

post your latest transmission lubricant change.

2003 Corolla: Out- unknown (Friend did not have receipts for last change) In- Toyota Type- IV 270,003 miles. I know my friend had it changed once or twice during his ownership. Pleasantly surprised with the fluid condition. Will do another drain and fill in the near future.

You can really get a sense of the love and care that you put into it. What a beautiful rig!

How long on Valvoline Restore and Protect before going back to favorite oil?

Sticking with Valvoline Restore and Protect for the Corolla and CX-9, I just don't see a reason to switch to anything else. I don't run extended intervals, if so I would consider something else. Just waiting for Valvoline to release a U.S. 40 weight version and it will go in the Ram as well.

2026 F250 7.3L Godzilla what is the recommended filter?

Lots of info around here on filters. The current favorites are the Premium Guard made filters. Someone may post the graphic which is helpful but some common ones; Premium Guard, Carquest Premium, Microgard Select, STP XL? I believe the current Mobil 1 filters are pretty good as well.

A Premium Oil Filter YouTube video

Came across this video today. I don't know a lot about oil filters, but this one seemed decent from what I could tell. This company sells a lot of parts, I have no experience personally with them.

Valvoline Restore and Protect: 2017 Santa Fe 2.0 T Sport Ultimate

Reading the thread, it appears the car got a new engine. Still, there was a large improvement with Valvoline Restore and Protect so I don't see a reason to change from it. Otherwise, keep those intervals short :)

I think my fleet is expanding...again. Not sure what to buy next.

Nothing wrong with any of those choices really. Are you going to test drive them all? Curious of your observations.

    Got another Challenger

Congrats, love those Challengers! I would bet that if they had kept selling those instead of the new ones, they would sell much better. Granted it needed some updating, but they are well-loved for a reason. Really enjoyed my old '15 Scat Pack, fun car.

    Scotty Kilmers' P0420 method

I don't have first hand experience with your exact scenario, but would be concerned running a fair amount of that stuff through the fuel system. Spark plug non-fouler an option?
