    G Oil Racing 5W30 VOA

Just FYI, I saw this at wal-mart in Laredo, tx (10w-30) for 6 bucks and some change. Sounds good, but not sure I want to put sirloin juice in my engine.

    Was Castrol right?

Guys, castrol g3 may be, questionalbly, inferior to g4 such as in mobil 1, but I ran m1 for 5 or 6 oci's in my honda and started getting seepage around the seals. Never had such a problem with castrol. Perhaps my honda issue is unique, but I suspect its not. food for thought.

    More 5W-20 Bologna

"This will happen but it is not accurate. Running larger tires (larger diameter will yield a larger circumference) will cause your RPMs and speedo to be higher resulting in actual lower mpg; not odo calculated mpg which will falsely calculate a higher MPG. This is because your engine RPM is...

    Gas from water?????

OK, I read most of the previous discussion and although the principle appears to have some merit, There needs to be some serious development to overcome some of the difficulties in making this work. Too bad...sounded interesting. Guess I'll take H2Guru's advice "forgetaboutit" Thanks for all the...

    Gas from water?????

bamaro, I'm still in the early stages of researching that...but what i've read so far is that the car's charging system should be adequate to do the job, being its not the primary fuel, the volume need not be that high. Another thought which crossed my mind but I haven't run accross in the...

    Gas from water?????

Kestas, I would agree with you wholeheartedly if the system was standalone. In thermo. the majority of systems you work with are closed systems if memory serves ( its been a few years) but here the closed system in question is the automotive system. the additional hydrogen and oxygen are...

Why you say "not Again"? is there a discussion elsewhere that I missed?

    Gas from water?????

Pablo, not water injection. I'm talking about breaking down water into Hydrogen and Oxygen then using these as supplemental fuel to gasoline by introducing them into the combustion cycle. sorry I didn't explain very well.

    Gas from water?????

Dave, I thought about that, but the principle is that its piped in as a secondary combustible which adds to the fuel mix Hydrogen and oxygen. The hope is, i surmise, is to burn that mix and use less of the expensive petrol thus stretching it out and effectively improving the mileage per gallon...

why honda and others don't use timing chain in

My 02" civic has 98k miles and still on original timing belt...still looks in good condition btw: ( knock on wood). Will be replacing it in the next 10k though weather it needs it or not. the cost is negligible compared to the altrernative...

    Gas from water?????

I'm kind of embarrassed to put this out, but I want a reality check. I've seen where people break down water into HOH and route it into their manifolds to burn concurrently with Gas. My first reaction is that its a bunch of hogwash, but interested in what some of you more knowledgeable folks...

too much oil came out at my OC?

Probably not this, but .... if this vehicle is carburated have you checked for a stuck float? In other words is there any way that this additional volume could be fuel??? Had that happen to me with a kawasaki Motrocycle once. Carb was overflowing and going in the pcv valve port.

    Havoline DS

Havoline has always been pretty good oil for me. My opinion, for what its worth.

    Your thoughts on Valvoline Synpower

Slow global warming get more miles from your oil. 3k should only be considered if you spend most of your time street racing or towing in the desert. For most other applications. Start with a base OCI of 5k and work your way up based on Vehicle and Usage. Oils are pretty good these days.

HELP ME DECIDE; CP Motorcraft or Spr AS Syn Blend?

I remember the mobil dino oils a few years back all had flash points below 400. something in the way mobil did things on paper...the uoa's always seemed to come in over 400. I seriously doubt that 365 figure in an oil that respectable...

    Pennzoil or Castrol-5W-20

Pennzoil 5w20 is ok, Gtx is better in 5w20: Why? 2005 F450: used both, purely subjective, but the truck seems to run smoother and with more power on the gtx ( 6.8liter v10) seriously gets beat too...oilfield usage. currently at 98,000 miles runs like new....been using gtx 5w20 since 30k miles...

If you had to choose between 5w-20 or 5w-30?

Neither, my honda gets m1 0w20. try it you'll like it.

    Mobil1 0W20?

Blue Oval, scarf it up. Been using it in my 02 civic. Admittedly a subjective observation, but it gets better mileage than the m1 5w20 and the car seems to run better with it. I won't spend the extra cash for m1 5w20 but the 0w20 I'll snag in a heartbeat. Fwiw.
