Currently running Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w20 but couldn't help posting this question...would i be better off running a 5w30? I live in the northeast but after seeing some nice uoas (and price)on the magnatec 5w30 from castrol it has me thinking..any thoughts on the switch?

Getting ready to do my last change on my f150 before winter. I have two filters left in my stash, 1-carquest 85372 champion blue (date 2015)and 2- hastings lf110 (date 2013).pick my next filter! And is the hastings filter from 2013 still good to use without issue?

Ok im buying an 03 explorer sport trac from my uncle that has a 140000 miles on it. Hes used fram orange filter(i know junk ,loll) and valvoline dino since the first oil change. I plan on changing the filter to a mc 820s filter and maybe even switching to mc 5w30 blend. Will this be an upgrade...
