    New Car - sludge?

    I was checking over my new Mazda (only 2000mi now) and took off the oil filler cap. Inside of it was about 1/4" of white like grease (actually looked exactly like white grease). Help! thanks pjh

    With regular oil changes (5000K or 4months)using a quality "dino oil" (ie Pennzoil,GTX) and quality filter(ie Wix,Tennex) - a car will last as long as it will by using the more expensive synthetic or synthetic blends. In Canada 4L of Pennzoil dino is under $10 while Mobil 1 is around $30...

    Well 3000k on my new Protege5 so I changed the oil using Penzoil 5w30 dino (instead of my usual GTX) after reading this forum. Got a special 4.73L jug at Wally-Mart for under $10! Not a bad deal.
