I've been changing the oil in my 2007 Tacoma 4.0 every 3-5k for the last few years using everything under the sun. So far, no issues at all with 95k on the clock. However, I have found oils that sound better in the engine than others. I'm running 5w30 QS HorsePower and so far, no ticking but...

Any thoughts on MaxLife 10w30 for my Bronco 5.8. I'm sporting 163,000 miles and no oil leaks so far. It's had everything in it but has been changed frequently.

I ran PYB 5w20 for two months during this cold snowy winter here in Maryland. I just dropped it after 5k and replaced it with QS HP Syn 5w30. Lets see how this oil holds up for 6K.

How can Motorcraft Blend 5w30 have an viscosity index of 163 while Pennzoil Platinum 10w30 has a lower index of 154? Furthermore, the MC 5w20 has an index of 164 which is higher than the MC 5w30. What am I not understanding? I thought synthetic group III had to exceed the 120 mark. Thanks guys...
