    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

I am of the age to not purposefully video my escapades, but I am certain that now someone else would be more than willing to incriminate. Thank the Lord phones didn't have cameras back in "my day". With this comes back my original question and the expected opinions of others...Does anyone know...

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

I saw the term "fear" be played in addressing my use of Schaeffer Oil and warranty compliance. An oil forum isn't the perfect place for THE answer, but there are a few professionals here as well as a number of DIY'ers that could speak to experience in coming up "against" one of the big...

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

I am 100% certain there are threads on the "burden of proof" in the doityourself oil changes and warranty.

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

And that is the discussion....Or so I believe. PuP will meet both recommended & the "must have" donut, but Schaeffer's meets only the "must have" donut. How tight on a "recommendation" can FCA get against a failed lifter....and what is my proof of Schaeffer Oil usage? Am I building a database of...

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

The first email didn't say much more than stating that the new cert is "The FCA MS-A0921 specification is the updated specification for Pennzoil’s 0w-40 Ultra Platinum SAE 5W-40 and for an engine oil that meets API SP and ILSAC GF-6. This new specification supersedes the previous FCA MS-12633...

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

As a Schaeffer fanboy, I just felt a little annoyed at the company's responses. There are many other oil makers that also do not meet the recommended spec., but this was "my" manufacturer and it stung a little. Plus I have a little over 6 gallons of the stuff in the shop I was hoping to use...

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

It would seem so. depending on how many grains of salt you have near you, there are a few U-tube videos on the subject. Uncle Tony could be a hack, or disguised as one, but the logic seems sound. I have experienced it firsthand as well.

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

@JoelB ... I agree. So is approved = "recommended" or is approved = "must have the donut"?

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

A "lack of consideration" in the design. If a Hemi sits for long periods and does not get a chance to rev high enough for splash lubrication on the roller lifters and cam lobes, you will see lobe wear beginning. At some point the needle bearings in the lifter will fail and wipe a lobe. Happened...

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

Well it recommends it in black and white for the 2022. 2021 was the older MS-12633. It seems that Pennzoil has the exclusive on this so far. Will they void it? Dunno. Would they look when the Hemi eats a lobe off the cam due to their inherent nature of under lubing the roller lifters? Also dunno.

    Schaeffer Oil not MS-A0921 spec'd

I am very bummed about this and Schaeffer Oil's decision to not move forward with pursuing this spec for my 2022 Ram 6.4. I called and emailed and received a flat "No" on the phone with a company tech adviser that they were not currently going after that cert. with their Supreme 9000 0w40. The...

    Concealed weapons permit?

Just to bring up a point not stated here...remember the .cal you are holding. That nice .45 you think makes you more of a man, if used, may he above help you. Be aware of what is around you, behind your target, above and below. Just because you were justified in your actions against the target...

Oh come now, George. It is always about the money. Never is there a thing in this world that does not end up being about the money. Time is money. Not taking the time, not wanting to bother = not wanting to pay for someone's time to do the work. Relatively inexpensive must be played out in the...

Yeah JAG, probably need to stick with the Schaeffer Micron Moly 5W-30 Schaeffer Micron Moly 10W-40 Schaeffer Supreme 7000 10W-30 All of which meet the Mercedes req. you mention based on the list from MB themselves. It usually is all about the money...money one one side or the other.

Did I misread??? You are saying that until an independant analysis is done that the specifications stated by the manufacturer are false, misleading, and borderline illegal? That until GM physically accepts the $$$ necessary for them to say you are allowed to use this oil, that the tests done to...
