    Is this likely do much good on cars with such low milage, or are we being OCD here?

    Redline...

    I can verify that. Baxters regularly has Redline for less than $8/qt. Used it regularly in my turbocharged 4G63 Mitsubishi engine with good results.

    An Ester-based oil like Redline would seem like an obvious choice for this oil cooker of an engine. I'm not sure how BMW feels about using non-approved brands though (not that I really trust they have all the answers anyway.) Comments?
