    Traction/ Tire help

I like the 80 grit sandpaper method myself. I always do it on new tires too, to help clean the "newness" off of them..

    WD-40 Chain Lube - Boraticus?

Quote: A chain used in a far dirtier environment will likely be subject to more wear than a clean environment on a machine with more power. For sure!! I've been riding since 1968 (a Honda C-65 that I got for $295!!), and listening to chain lube debates at least that long. I just squirted some...

    illertacy???

Great story! We should all remember that some of the World's greatest minds have had difficulty with the written word. So true!! I used to get a kick out of one of the guys who worked here years ago who couldn't spell worth a darn. Wheelbarrow was "whlebro", for example, but, the guy could...

WOW - those guys are really getting pounded out in Middle USA!! We got pretty lucky here in SW PA - the prognosticators were calling for major issues, but we just got a little sleet/ice/snow and rain.

DMO for John Deere 4440 and 4450 also 4020

Per the MSDS J-D 0W-40 is made by ESSO Canda. Their 0-40 is a good year-round product. J-D says "When used in John Deere engines with John Deere filters, drain intervals may increase 50 percent over operator's manual recommendations."

    Buy out my lease?

If you like the car, have maintained it well and the buyout is lower than the car's value, it's a no-brainer. Buy it!! I had a similar situation last August - my '07 Expedition's lease was up, the buyout was around $18K, and the previous week's auction price (as low as you'll find) on similar...

Tranny Flush as Condition of FORD ESP Warranty??

I just had an interesting discussion with my local Ford dealer's Service Manager. I have an '07 Expedition with 65K miles, and the Ford Extended Service Plan (ESP); the "Premium Care", highest coverage/cost plan. It'll be good to 96K miles. The guy told me that, as a condition of the ESP...

Blizzak WS 70 snow / ice : Any users of these ?

I have WS70's on the wife's Navigator and studded Hankook I-Pike's on my Expedition. I actually had the WS70's on the Expedition for a few hundred miles until the I-Pikes got here. Having driven them both in snow/ice so far this year, I have to give the edge to the WS70's. Excellent tires.

Ever had TPMS sensors swapped to new wheels?

On the Fords we've done (Expeditions, Navigator) the sensor is mounted to the wheel with a flat metal strip and double-sided tape. We've had a couple instances where the flat tape got snagged and tore the sensor loose when removing tires from the wheels, and replaced the flat strip with some BIG...

    Barcalounger for my Beemer

Looks great!! I'm interested in a couple things, as regards a new couch for my own '09 GS: 1. What did it cost? 2. How long did it take to get it? 3. Does it increase the ride height any? I'm 6'0", and really don't NEED any more of a reach to terra firma!! If you guys can ever get some decent...
