Anyone have experience with an Everstart Value Group 75 or is it the same crap shoot like any other battery? It looks like an EastPenn , I am located in Central, NJ if that makes a difference on the mfr. The car will only driven occasionally and battery put on a maintainer a few times a year...

    Input on upgrading backpack blower

I have a 13 yo Husqvarna /Redmax 150bt blower and I looking to get recommendations for a new blower with more power. The Husky has been pretty good over the years, pretty sure these aren't Redmax blowers anymore. I would like the weight around 24 -25 lbs. Anyone with experience with Husqvarna...

    Echo Red Armor Oil

Looking to buy an Echo hand held blower pb-2520 and want to get input on using Red Armor oil for warranty and durability. I already have a Husqvarna/ Redmax 150BT that runs good on Poulan Pro/Husky semi-synth oil , which is ISO-L-EGD and JASO FD certified as Echo requires for warranty. Last I...

Recommendations for a Handheld Gas Blower

I am looking to get some recommendation for a handheld gas blower to quick clean up of decks, walk and driveway when I don't want to break out my backpack blower for bigger jobs . The handheld will probably get about 10-15 hrs/year use. Two I am looking at are the Echo PB-2520 and Husky 125B...

Recommendations for Brake Master Cylinder for an 87 Nissan Maxima

Looks like I have a rear seal leak on the brake master cylinder of my 87 Nissan Maxima. Not surprising given the age :). Choices for replacements look are NOS (are now discontinued) from either Raybestos or Wagner or "new" from parts store brands made by the larger aftermarket suppliers. Which...

1999 Toyota Avalon w/Low Mileage Trans Slips When Cold

I have a family member's 99 Avalon with 32 K miles (yes, 32K) that has the A541E trans slipping when cold. It has been driven about 100 miles this past year. It will also not "creep" at idle when cold. When it is warm the there is no slipping, but shifts are a bit slow. There is also rumbling...

Full Synthetic 2 Stroke oil Corrosion Resistance

This is somewhat dated, so keep it mind. Several years ago I recall reading about internal engine corrosion in two stroke engines that used full synthetic oil compared to mineral oil. I don't remember the type of synthetic or if it was brand specific, but the synthetic at the time did not have...

Wen GN400i Open Frame Inverter Generator

Anyone with experience with this gen ? It is on my shortlist for home backup power for the refrig, light, space, heater. Total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, which is as good or better than others. This one has a RATO 212 cc (same a...

Brake Rotor Recommendations for Dodge Stealth R/T

I am looking for rotor recommendations for a 94 Dodge Stealth R/T, which will be used for mid-street performance. This system has the floating caliper system, not the fixed type on the turbo. I want a rotor blank without slots or drilled. Pads being considered are Akebono Ultras or Raybestos AT...

New Champion Branded Filters at Pep Boys

Anyone running and/or do a tear-down of this new filter at Pepboys ? These filters are from Federal-Mogul, not Fram/Champion Labs . I just picked COS3614 for an Avalon on an oil deal and it looks pretty decent for a mid-range filter. Specs/ sell sheet: 99% filtration efficiency, quality media...

    Centric C-tek Standard Rotor Qualtiy

For those of you have run Centric C-tek Standard Rotors, how have they performed and held up (rust, run-out)? I am looking at them for mild street performance application. Supposedly these rotors have upgraded iron G11H18 and claim precise machining, but Centric does not go into detail about...

Valvoline DOT 3/4 Brake Fluid Seal Compatiblity

I have read some various posts around the web stating that Valvoline DOT 3/4 Brake Fluid caused seal/hose degradation, especially in some older vehicles. I found nothing conclusive, but it does raise a concern. I thinking of running this in a '94 Dodge Stealth R/T w/o ABS which specs DOT3 or 4...

Street Performance Brake Pads for Dodge Stealth

I am looking for a good street performance pad for my Stealth R/T DOHC non-turbo, non-abs with new Centric blanks. This is for street performance driving and no tracking. On my short list are: Akebono Street Performance (GG), Raybestos AT (?), Raybestos EHT (GG)and StopTech Street Performance...

    Master Cyllinder Bench Bleed Methods

Does the plug method of bench bleeding a MC have more of a chance of damaging seals than the recycle fluid method? I used the plug method on the last MC and took an hour to bleed and ended up defective with the pedal going to the floor after several bleeds. Maybe a coincidence but...

    Bake Hoses ?

What are the good quality brake hoses brands these days? From what I see at box part stores AZ, PEP and AA, they are are made in China by Sunsong (?) or Dorman. I read some posts on the web that most hoses from Wagner, Raybestos or Bendix are the same made in China parts. Anyone have first hand...

Reman AcDelco Calipers Different Pistion L and R.

I have reman calipers to that use different piston left and right. Both have the same part number and codes on the box, but no date though. One piston looks better machined, but polish coated metal. The other looks closer to OEM, but with some imperfections on the outer surface with a finish...

How tight a joint on new stabilizer link?

I am replacing the original stabilizer links at all four corners on a '99 Toyota Avalon. Are the new links defective if I can move the new replacement joint by hand (all but three links do this )? I would think the links should be similar to a good ball joint, nearly impossible to move by hand...

Replace Brake Line Tube Nuts with new Hard Lines ?

I am replacing the steel brake lines in my 32 year old Pontiac with Nicopp lines. Most of original OEM tube (flare) nuts look in better shape (less rust) than the aftermarket nuts I replaced several years ago during a brake line repair. The AM nuts are made by AGS in either China, Korea or USA...

    Bearing Driver Tool

Are the any bearing drivers out there that have a raised shoulder to transmit the force to the outer race to prevent damage to the bearing? Or have you found it does not matter? I need to replace the bearing in a accessory drive belt pulley, like most accessory bearing is interference fit to the...

    EIS Master Cylinder ?

Anyone know if these EIS master cylinders are any good? I can't find any info on them, except the company has been bought and sold through the years. The actual picture of the master is the same as ACDelco and Raybestos, so it could be EIS or Raybestos is the supplier.
