In regards to a truck at work: It's a 2006 Ford F550. V10, 8.0L. For there to be no oil registering on the dipstick, how many qts low does it need to be? It takes 7 qts. Thanks.

I'll baby the truck with maintenance, I just need it to take care of me for several years. I'm going all synthetic in the diffs, tranny and motor. Whats the definition of excessive idling? For 5 minutes? 30?

I don't agree that it will kill your mpg. I know many, many poeple that use an HDEO in a gas rig. I personally use Amsoil 15w40 full synthetic in my Dodge V10.

I doubt you can really ever get the oil out completely. I've seen a pressure washer help.. Maybe just stain the rest of the concrete with oil and it'll be uniform
