Kreativ, would you happen to know of any part numbers for denso filters for the 22re engine? I've been buying them from a dealer in Houston for $3.50 ea, but my guess is these are US-made, not Japan-market filters. --Jim

He could try running a good diesel oil for a year like Delvac 1 to cleanse out the varnish, but at $28/gallon, if he's that frugal, there's no way he'll buy it. It's so expensive, it's almost like drugs for your car.
