`97 Dodge Ram Steering component replacement parts

Are the leading arms to the front axle in good shape? You should pry near the bushing and check. I'm not sure of pressing in new bushings or buying new arms is the ideal method. There is another option to using Moog Problem Solver. Some business specialize in performance parts for your Dodge...

    Poor Handling - Shocks?

Your shocks are probably a major cause of the problem, but keep in mind that other things may contribute. 1. Failed sway bar links and bushings. This is usually the first thing to fail on any car. 2. Idler arm. They tend not to last long on a Chevy S10 or Blazer. 3. Control arm bushings. Get a...

    Astro 4.3 idle misfire

First replace the ignition components mentioned by the others. Spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, and distributor rotor. As you remove the distributor rotor, feel if the distributor shaft has free play. That can add to the problem. Does this engine use a PCV valve? Sometimes they don't...

What lubes do brake manufacturers recommend?

I just use the CRC black paste with the paintbrush and I never have a problem. Whenever I encounter a brake part set with lube, it is often a heavy moly grease, so it is similar to CRC. However, I have also encountered a few ceramic based lubes. They changed the style of the package, but the...

    Rotella or DELO or...

It is interesting that Castrol makes a 15w40, but hardly anybody sells it and I don't know of anyone who has used it. How can all their other oils be so common, yet their HDEO is practically unknown?

    Liqui Moly 0w-40

Whenever I see someone who is willing to pay a much higher price for German engine oil, I think of the tuning scene and the gimmicks they buy. These kinds of people will also buy German brands of 75w90 gear oil despite the fact that Mobil1 would be perfect in their situation. If the state they...

    2001 Land Rover Discovery

In 2001, my family went to the Tampa new car show, and knobs had already fallen off the stereo of a Land Rover. I decided that day I would never own a Land Rover. I hardly ever encountered them where I worked, but when I did, they needed a fortune in repairs. Repairing a Benz seems cheap when...

    Your thoughts on a Van?

Since transmission failure is a major event that gets people to sell their Chrysler T&C, transmission shops and freelance mechanics buy them, rebuild the transmission, then resell them. They do this so often that it takes them little time to do the job. If you know this was done, then you only...

Why are things for sale always freshly serviced?

I suspect that potential buyers would be scared to buy a car with really disgusting looking fluids in it. It would give them impression that the car was not worth much money and not going to last a long time. The price of the recent services is more than offset by the higher price a customer...

    Duplicate file detector

This works so well that I bought the full version. In just a few hours, I have removed over 30GB of duplicates. I'm sure in a few days I will have delted at least 100GB of stuff that I don't need.

    Car Quest ATF

Some Dexron VI is full synthetic and some is semi synthetic. Back when Carquest wasn't property of Advance Auto, their Dexron 6 was fully synthetic and made by Ashland. I wouldn't worry about anything if I was using that in a vehicle that needed Dexron 6.
