My winter bike/beater is a converted single speed. I can appreciate the simplicity of it mechanicals wise when something goes wrong. No derailer or cassette to fiddle with. I did about 20 miles on it last weekend and realized why I dig them so much. I just avoid major hills at all costs.

I'd recommend going with a Kryptonite. I've used one for over a year and never had a problem with it.

On Thanksgiving, I had a bottle of Golden Blonde Parish Ale from Paper City Brewing in Massachussets. It was a pretty straightforward pale ale but very tasty and went well with the tofu I cooked. For Christmas, I'll probably go with a bottle of Brooklyn Brewing Chocolate Stout.

If you want some quality house brand beer, I've heard nothing but good things about Trader Joe's brand beer.

The name of it escapes me but it is Chinese and has the rooster on the front of the bottle and a green top/cap.

I really like Beck's Dark. Haven't had the regular in awhile. I really wish they would put the Dark in cans like the regular stuff.

I was drinking Unibroue yesterday. Had a bottle of U Rousse and a pint Éphémère yesterday. Rousse is along the lines of an european dark lager and Éphémère is an ale with apple flavoring. Both very delicious..!
