Transmission Fluid Change: Check bolt vs indicated capacity

Raise the rear with a jack like you said, I do it all the time. Use a level on the door sill to get it perfect!

2000 Honda Accord 4cyl burning exhaust valves

Just got it apart. Odd deposits on the face of the valve. I will consider setting them on the loose side on the replacement head.

2000 Honda Accord 4cyl burning exhaust valves

Burnt #3 cyl exhaut valves about 30K ago. I replaced the valves (just lapped them) and now it has done it again 30K later. I'm replacing the head with a remanufactored one along with new fuel injectors. The injector for that cylinder is the only thing that I can think that would cause it? Any...

FWIW, the Dorman I purchased from O'Reillys a couple years ago came with a lifetime warranty. It's been OK so far.

    Changing Spark Plugs and Lubrication

It is standard practice in many industries to follow the service data provided by the OEM if the data provided by the part manufactor is different. Here is an example that applies to this thread-Honda's service data says to use anti-seize on NGK plugs (I'm with Honda on this one).

2000 Honda Accord smells like burning rubber when climbing a hill at highway speeds

Hey guys, I have a 2000 Honda Accord (4 cylinder) with 395000 miles. I replaced the engine at 290000 with a used serviceable unit. It has done this for awhile and I cannot find the source... It produces a noticeable burning rubber smell when climbing a significant hill at highway speeds. It's...

Incorrect markings on Supertech ATF/coolant containers

I recently found this on some Supertech ATF and coolant jugs. Here is a picture of the ATF jugs. Look at the level markings-the jug on the right has markings that indicate a liter being a greater quantity of fluid than a quart! Here is a jug of coolant I purchased the other day. It's...

    Dex 3 or Dex 6

My 2005 Silverado had 3 it's entire life-I tried 6@240K miles and the tranny did work as well as it did with 3 (seemed to 'ease' into high gear, etc). I put 3 back in and it returned to it's original performance.
