Switching brands almost every oil change

I use a combination of whatever is on sale or convenient for me to go buy. If I'm at Costco and remember to buy a case of oil, I'll buy it there. I live 20 minutes from Costco so I won't go there just for oil. But Walmart is 7 minutes down the street and they have oil filters.

    MOBIL M1-110A CUT OPEN

Interesting! I might be going to the Purolator for my next change. I live in a hot and dusty climate, typically see over 100 straight days over 90 degrees here in the desert and road trip from El Paso to central Florida once a month.

Top Tier fuels, I think they work

Yep. Most of the time when you ask people where they fuel up, they'll reply, "whatever's cheapest."

He wanted to keep it secret so we don't buy gas from there as well.

    Toyota Dealer Recommends Oil Flush???

This debate has turned almost as hot as: 9mm vs .45 ACP Lennon vs McCartney Can I switch between dino and synthetic?

Confirmed; Kirkland Motor Oil is Warren/MAG!

Oh yeah, in addition to the awful Costco gas & Kirkland oil I put in my car and the spoiled meat and vegetables I eat from Costco, my car is also a rebuild. Somehow, since putting on 27,000 miles since August 2021, it hasn't exploded or fallen apart on me and I haven't died of food poisoning...

Confirmed; Kirkland Motor Oil is Warren/MAG!

Last 2 oil changes I've done were at 7,764 and 8,290 miles using Kirkland oil and I use Costco gas. Somehow my car hasn't blown up. I also do my grocery shopping there and somehow I haven't gotten food poisoning or died. I must be a miracle.

    Hyundai - Kia warranty

We have bought 3 new Hyundai/Kia vehicles: 2011 Kia Forte Koupe 2013 Hyundai Tucson 2014 Kia Sportage Forte was a decent car, got great mileage. Ended up trading it in for the Sportage. Tucson was a decent car, too. Very similar to the Sportage but the Tucson was more refined, IMO. The Tucson...

    Opinions on 2017 Highlander deal

Wife compared the Limited with the XLE as did I. We do not believe the extra $3,200 is worth it in getting the Limited so we are going with the XLE. Sales manager was very aggressive in trying to get us to buy today. Told us that December is a tough time to buy a car. Yeah right. LOL. More like...

I can't edit the original post but the price that USAA quoted me was plus tax whereas the dealership price was tax included. Originally Posted By: crazyoildude $43,031 for a Toyota? I would shop around. People pay $100k for a Chevy. What's your point?

    Opinions on 2017 Highlander deal

Before I get into the advice I'm seeking, we are strictly looking at the 2017 because of the new standard safety features, 8 speed (old one was 6 speed) automatic transmission and direct injection motor. The combination of engine and transmission gives it an extra 25 HP and 15 ft. lbs. of torque...

Mobil 1 oil/filter good combo for this...

Friend moved back home but left her car here for work when she comes in once a month for 3-4 days. El Paso, TX so that gives you an idea of the weather. Was thinking about about going with Mobil 1 extended performance oil with a M1 filter. Car will sit for days and maybe weeks at a time...

Tire pressure sensors 2014 Kia Sportage

They have always given us problems, especially when the temperature drops suddenly. Plate inside the door says 34 so I check and the tires are at 34. Spare is filled to spec as well. Light comes in, flashes and then stays on after I start the car. From my research that means the sensor is...

Do You Use Amsoil? Why or Why Not?

I used to use it. Seemed to be a good product to me. But now I do not, it's not worth it. The MLM scheme has turned me away as well. If they took away the multiple commissions, they could drop the price and get themselves out there more. Not really sure why some guy gets a cut from me buying...
