I have moved away from 10w40 dino but still have a few quarts that I think are still usable. Is it possible to mix dino 10w30 with a dino 10w40? I was thinking that I would use (1) quart of 10w40 and (4) quarts of 10w30 for the next few oil changes, until all my old stuff is used up.

Ran across some old conoco oil (1 qt metal can) at a yard sale. It says 15000 mile motor oil 10w-20w-40. It appears to be from the 70's since I dont think they used bar codes too much in the 60's. Question: Whats with the dual weight and is this a synthetic oil. 15k is alot of miles on a dino oil.
