There should be a national law permitting euthanizing animals fatally injured by vehicle hitting them.

Really sad seeing wombats run over next to the road here... They're so slow and large I don't know how people can't avoid them. I firmly believe some (sick) people enjoy hitting them.

Do trees help block noise between homes?

Short answer, no. Sorry about the situation you are in. Don't retaliate, we had to move from our previous place due to neighbor issues. As someone else said, trees or hedges won't grow fast enough to make a difference and bad people can simply poison them. A fence would need to be sound...

    Please recommend a gas card

In Australia most service stations you fill up first then go pay inside. As the payment terminal is inside and supervised skimming of cards from pumps is not really a thing. Also paywave/paypass/tapandpay is very common and pretty secure. I use one debit card tied to my single account for...

Why coated rebar is still a problem

We routinely use hot dip galvanised steel in geotechnical structures (shotcrete). I've also specified GFRP bar in grouted anchorage.

Daughter failed test in grad school ...

I know when i came close to failing an course it was a serious wake-me-up. I was able to re-sit the exam and just scraped by. I took things more seriously after that, I just did not want to fail. Maybe it will just re-start the motors so to speak.

    Brutality, with intent to kill....

Nothing is new under the sun, however, I do believe something has become very sick in our society in the last 10 years. I see it in neighbours and work, all the time... Frankly I believe it's due to poor parenting from the 60's on. But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to...

Anybody ever bought land and had a house built ?

We bought semi-rural 2 acres with a 1800 square foot living area house built a couple of years ago. This was going to be our forever home, raise the kids, and let the grandkids come visit us. The attached garage and the porch added 1000 square feet. Lovely land. We had wild animals come up...

Sydney residential tower evacuated. Fear of collapse.

As the damage seems to be on the 10th floor, most likley a structural issue, rather than foundation issue. However, depending on how the building was engineered, foundation settlement can also be the source.
