USA to blame, as always. We are EVIL!!!!

The drug industry are real angels huh? Why is that drugs cost the most vulnerable the most money, our elderly and poor uninsured? Its a very powerful lobby and influencer in our government and there is no motive to help people just to make many $$$$.

Confused Why Does Changeover Timing to Synthetic Matter

I just purchased a new WRX 2004. The only facts I know about it is a that break-in is 1000 miles. The first oil change listed is 3750 miles severe. I already violated the 4000 rpm rule in the manual on the test drive and on occasion now at 75 miles. (its very easy to surpass ). Actually I'm a...

    More Fram Stuff/Fram Filter Life

Out of curiousity, if you change the filter won't a bunch of oil come out of the motor as the filter is low or just some?

    More Fram Stuff/Fram Filter Life

I had Walmart change my oil. The manager stated they did not have any Fram's in stock at the time they changed my oil and were using another type. Apparently they did have a Fram as I have one installed, I saw some orange under my car with some gray on it....It does not worry me too much as I...

    Looking for cheaper gasoline?

I guess I'll hang on to my 205,000 mile Civic a while longer. 36-38 MPG still as from new.

Anybody think my oil is too thick?

I have a Honda Civic 1995-A few oil changes had 10W40 put in by a place. It mostly makes the mileage suffer by 2-3mpg. I checked bill after noticing drops both times.

    wal mart

My local Walmart stocks both Havoline (larger display) and Chevron Supreme (one bottle wide each of 5W30 and 10W40). They also stock the Rotella 5W40 and many that others state are not at theirs.

Will SuperTech breakdown in high heat/stress?

Your driving style will kill the motor not the oil. If you change the oil at 2000 miles you should be fine. You can spend at bit more (not much) on Chevron Supreme ($1.14 at Walmart) which seems equivalent to Castrol and Pennzoil.

Could there be any importance in dates?

I believe maybe due to planning and coordination with respect to times to fly. In general Tuesday seems to be a dead day to fly as opposed to Monday or Friday.

Loose Filter From Toyota Dealer Oil Change

As long as humans are doing the work things like this will happen. There are probably people who do it themselves and forget to tighten the filter or drain plug enough. Fortunately it does not seem to be very frequent.

What is your OCI and brand of oil being used?

Nice job on breakdown etc. If you breakdown again you probably should have a dino and synthetic breakdown to give a clearer picture of OCI.

    SuperTech Filter Life

I have noticed the oil is a bit dirtier (appears darker at least) than usual for new oil. I was sure if not oil was drained out completely or Mobil 1 loosens up things?

    SuperTech Filter Life

I tried searching but not great success. Anyway how long can a SuperTech last safely in your opinion. I'd like to use 6month/7500 mile OCI with Mobil 1 in a 203k mile 95 Civic in great running condition. Previously used 4-5k OCI dino with whatever filter (including Fram's).

New filter added to my test (You FRAMmers are gonna love this)

I have to add that many people have gone many miles with FRAM on their car and nothing happens. My buddy uses Fram and dino and 5-7k OCI on both his VW Golf's (1998,2000) and all still seem well after 100,000 miles. I posted a while ago "Do you actually know any one with an actual FRAM...

Does anyone Change Oil More Often Due to High Miles

Hi, I joined the rest and am currently trying Mobil 1. I want to extend the interval to at least 6k if not 7.5k miles. Given age of my 95 Civic and it has 203,000 miles should I stick to my usual interval of 4-5k miles (previously dino)? I am asking since the motor although it runs pretty...
