    The OP does not have the Theta 2 Engine. The 2013 Elantra has the 1.8 Nu Engine. Which has nothing to do with the Theta 2 Engine recalls. The 1.8 Nu Engine does have a TSB just in Canada for piston slap. But nothing for the US.

    Yes just look at the parts manual. Your model has two phillips screws that hold the front panel one. Once the screws are removed pull the lower portion of the front panel toward you and the top of the front panel should detach from the lid. You should then see the screws on each side of the lid...

    Going to need to pull the front cover off first to get to the bolts that hold the lid down. Those c-clips you see are part of the front cover. I can't remember if that model has 2 screws in the front cover toward the bottom?

    02 Wrangler morning Stall

    Crank Sensor. Very common problem of the Jeep 4.0. Had one failing on a 03 GC. Sensor is a pain to get to. Top of bell housing.
