I did a little google search and have a better understanding about what EGT is and does... Volvo Penta does make a temp gauge plus there is a fitting on the turbo inlet side. Did read about how some truckers drive by the EGT. IM not into installing methanol injection.

Thanks for all the reply's. Boat is inboard. semi planing so not much cavitation. The EGR has got my attention... I have no temp gauge so dont know. Can I know a little more about EGT and Diesels? How besides lower rpm or load is EGR controlled?

JLR V8s and V6s have the plastic crossover pipe(s) which on occasion can fail spontaneously. Engines are all aluminum - HOT=No Bueno. By the time the coolant light goes on most owners will have no clue. Then it's too late. So, does a coolant pressure warning gauge/alarm/ignition shutdown device...

if your hitting 80k on the scv6 esp in florida you need to change the front and rear crossovers and water pump and associated little plastic/rubber/o-rings right now
