    Schaeffer S9000 in a VW 1.9 PD

The heating was a test - but like all your responses a good example of OCD.

    2005 WV Golf - Castrol SLX 5w30 505.01

If you want a explanation of the severity level get on the phone and ask them. I have heard that numbers can run higher than 25 and be expected. IIRC its relative to oxidation so call them and ask them why it was flagged what does it mean and what should you look for in the future. Thats why you...

Motul Specific 505.01 5w-40 UOA in A5 BRM Jetta

You say you added ZDDP - what did you add it to. There is still a chance that this engine could have a life in line with what is expected of a diesel VW ZDDP is not a ring or emission friendly additive. Times have changed. In NC I would switch to GRP III+ or GRP IV CJ4 oil. If you want to...

    Schaeffer S9000 in a VW 1.9 PD

Extend - I think it is so to speak I changed the oil only and its very close to a 6 qt system. So next OCI 2 qt will have 16k and 4 of course 8k. Next OCI I will change full flow filter so it will be a 4.5 qt change, the following no filters so in the end some of that oil will have 32k some 24k...

    Toyota Diesel, 5k on M1TDT.. Lead 48?

doubtful disel kleen has this lead - if it not wear it seems that something is eating at the lead. change it and test again in 5k

    Schaeffer S9000 in a VW 1.9 PD

Schaeffer does support the use of S9000 for 505.01 and it is clearly on the label. It is not VAG tested. Previous OCI were VW LL III 5W30 507.00 oil I wonder if the nickel could be in the construction of by-pass filter. We may see a clash between LL III 5W30 and S9000. I think if it is clash...

    VW 2.0TFSI oil

VW tends to use thinner mileage oils that are very emission friendly, low in ZDDP -many TDI's having high wear switched to API CI4+ and now CJ4 and the wear has decreased. I think the RL oil will give very good results - don't add to it till you have some results - the oil is very high in...

    '05 Duramax UOA w/ 18k on oil

look and see if Amsoil has a Ea filter that would help with the off road dust. Si, sub micron in size no filter will get. Looking very good otherwise.

    Amsoil ACD30 20,500km Nissan Navara

Not sure I understand, its a 20,000 km OCI or 12,500 miles ? But you add 5 lt of oil, and 5 TP filters in that 12500 miles. If it has a 5 lt sump then you used 10 lt of oil in 12500 miles. Is this correct, if it is, then the cost per mile is seems high. What is the normal OCI for this engine if...

The UOA numbers above seem to represent CI4+ - CJ4 will have less Ca -P -Zn

    Redline 5w-40

I do not think that CI4+ has a ash limit its - CJ4. Funny that Mobil moved to Moly - Schaeffer increased theirs from 200 to 300 and added a 700+ ppm Mg. They lowered Zn - P - Ca which are the major contributors to ash. Most companies lowered their Ca Zn and P, including Euro oils and many added...

    Cummins 5.9 w/ 43,000miles....

It looks like a real good oil - availability should be good. I bet you'll do very well with it. I am trying to get some VW PD owners to try this oil. Boron is a little weak but I like the formula. Shell RT CJ4 also has Boron 60 and Mo 60.

    Isuzu 4BD1_Amsoil 15w40

Even if you factor in the large sump and the make up oil this uoa is comparable to my VW having a TWM "total wear metals" count of 33 ppm in 23400 miles. Thats wear of 1.4 ppm TWM per 1000 miles of use. You may die before the engine does.

    UOA S9000 1316 miles 37 hours - baselline UOA

Yes there are many interested in this oils performance. As you know this a notorious PD and requires oil that many feel we are just not capable of making in this backward country. :):). I have members at TDI club who are concerned the by-pass filter will have negative effects on viscosity. So I...

    moly ?

Seems to me that many oils are moving to Moly Boron combinations. Mobil for one is using Moly were it had not before.
