Do you usually get a tax refund or have to pay

The goal should be a net zero...don't owe, don't pay. Not necessarily realistic, but I got close for a few years...I think feds owed us 300-ish. But we took some investment losses, which we keep rolling over and get a little more back from the feds than normal. Once those are rolled off it will...

    Bought a cheap 9mm pistol

For the prices they've dropped to, the CZ P10c should be on everyone's short list. $300-ish for a reliable, G19-sized pistol, with arguably better ergonomics.

What ? Newer ULTRA with the metal screen ...

Someone here said the XG2 hasnt been changed (or at least not yet) That has been my experience as I hunted for some this week. All of the XG2s I found at my 2 local Walmarts have the "old" pinkish, wire mesh type media. The date codes are from 2023 as well. Kinda makes me curious if they are...

    Bought a cheap 9mm pistol

Very handy and even fun! Can attach to a rail, or to the bottom of a mag...comes with a small section of picatinny that you double-side-tape on if your pistol doesn't have a rail.

    Dealership license plate frames

My first new car was a factory ordered Neon R/T. I fought the dealer on price for 2 weeks...over? A $205 "Advertising fee". "Why do I need to advertise your business? That's a business expense on you" We eventually came to an "agreement" where I got a few oil changes for free, offsetting...

    Dealership license plate frames

Ripped off with prejudice ASAP. I havent had a bad enough experience to do it right in front of the salesperson before I drive the vehicle home. Yet.

Insane Electric Rate Increase $508.68/1522 kWh

How much was the solar project? I do see there are places online that will sell you a kit to install yourself (or hire an electrician, not a solar company), but its still not an inexpensive endeavor.

Windows 10, paging file, and SSD vs. HDD

Decent SSDs are pretty cheap lately. I got a somewhat OK brand name 2TB for 100.00 from Amazon just over a month ago. Id go with 256 or 512GB from a good name (Samsung if you can swing it) RAM can be expensive depending on what your motherboard requires. My PC was old, so I had to suck it up...

    Schaeffer's 9000 5w30 Supreme

Schaffers at $13-ish per quart. Im sure its good and all, but I can do 2 oil changes with the "cheap stuff" and still be saving money.

Have you grown to dislike working from home?

100%. Its funny how even just 5 or 10 years ago, it was always "college college college", now I tell people my son wants to be a plumber and they practically start applauding. Ridiculously proud of him for standing up and saying college isn't what he wants to do, no matter how many people he...

LG Washer finally said no more, I can't.

My kitchen is full of LG appliances, we slowly had to replace what was there and went LG for the oven, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. If my washer/dryer ever needed replacing, Id be going with LG as well. I firmly believe 99% of appliances are a crapshoot. One of my in-laws has **** luck...

Have you grown to dislike working from home?

Best jobs are the ones you can leave at work. No "projects", no "due dates", etc. Go to work, make pizzas, go home. Go to work, plumb some stuff, go home (my son has said he wants to be a plumber instead of going to college) etc.

Have you grown to dislike working from home?

After our first year of 100% WFH my boss talked to all of us together and thanked everyone...our production had actually stayed the same and/or gone up (depending on the metric) To me, its a give and take - I may step away at 2PM to grab something from the grocery store, etc. But I will also be...

    Lexus ES350 spark plug change

The wheel bearing on my 2001 Infiniti went kaput while I was on a long trip. The bearing itself was $50, the labor to replace it was 300-ish. Had I been able to get the hub w/bearing, the labor would have been half the cost. This is like how ball joints are becoming "no longer...

Have you grown to dislike working from home?

WFH 100% since "2 weeks to flatten the curve" Ive worked from home before, but not on a regular basis. Im a software developer with a laptop...I can do my job pretty much anywhere. I always found it odd that "face time" was a big deal for my company, considering the only people that ever saw me...

Insane Electric Rate Increase $508.68/1522 kWh

Living in CT we have some of the highest electric rates in the country, but solar never made sense for me. ~$20K out-pay for the system, my average electric bill is about 275/month. Looking at about a 7 year payback. AFAIK the panels are warrantied for 10, so 3 years of "profit" then if...

    toyota v6 2012 80kmi - oil/filter change frequency

We have a 2015 Lexus ES350, Toyota spec is 10K mile OCI. After warranty I started changing the oil myself with M1 0W-20 EP. Car gets about 9K miles per year, but because we are in CT we have both ends of temp extremes (cold, hot). I am now going to twice a year oil changes, once a year filter...

    Lexus ES350 spark plug change

I tend to disagree...my parents and in-laws both own Avalons, which are ES350s with a Toyota badge. Everything is in the same spot, so 'easier to work on' in the Lexus? Doubtful. Now, there may be plenty of other luxury vs non vehicles out there that it differs, but in the Honda Accord vs Acura...

    Lexus ES350 spark plug change

We have a 2015 ES350 and I am regularly astounded by the mpg. Wife drives it, maybe 60/40 highway/city and we're still getting 23-25mpg on winter gas. It's given us 0 issues in the 7 years we've owned it...haven't even had to change the brakes yet (60K miles). Oil changes and a set of tires is it.

What am I limited to for EV charging on this sub panel?

Based on the labels of the breakers in OPs subpanel, there are a lot of "large" appliances that may or may not be running throughout the day (microwave, dryer, etc). and overnight (fridge, etc). Plus it looks like a lot of stacked breakers if Im seeing it correctly. On top of possibly...
