    3,000 Mile Oil Change

    I drive lots of dirt roads,over 100+ degrees with the ac on etc. Severe is 2500 miles in my truck and 3000 in the jeep. Usually change sooner than that. I let the FJ go 4000 then start worrying about it.

    What is a good brand of A/C Schrader Valves?

    They told us in AC class that the plastic cap with O-Ring is the seal. Sounds crazy but true. Maybe tighten your schrader a little more?

    The plastic cap is supposed to be the actual seal. Maybe replace it with a new one too. It should hold the refrigerant in.

    Reason I asked is because about 30 years ago I was driving a C30 with a flat bed and I got chased down by CHP and made to turn around and go through the scales. Then the owner got ticketed for not having IFTA and what not.

    OT: Any trouble from the DMV and Highway patrol with your bed swap? Here that swap makes the truck a comercial vehicle that must go through scales, IFTA etc.

    plus a piece of equipment blows a hose out at a job site. The new hose is dragged through the dirt by the crew while installing it. Then they fill the system with a funnel thats been riding around in the bed of bobs truck without even wiping it out.

    Huh? A hydraulic pump makes lots of pressure and 1 spec of whatever will cause damage to the pump. A used hydraulic filter will be plugged full of junk.

    I wonder if the engines are getting low on oil and the small amount of oil is getting too contaminated to lube properly?
