    Little experiment....Going from 5W30 to 5W40

Not much, because 5W cold start performance is not required in a hot climate. In fact, multi grade engine oils are not required or necessary in the summer months. I would and have used mono grades in the past in similar applications, or just gone with 15W-40 because it’s cheap and available...

Really glittery Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w20 change on 2008 Tundra 5.7

0W-40 FS would be my pick. No seasonal changes, no thinking. Besides, I have 6 jugs if it for the same reason for use in a F350 6.2L gasoline engine that lives near the Yukon border.

A3/B4 in HDEO application, what would go wrong?

I tried a pcmo 10w40 in my 2011 6.6L LML, followed by a UOA. The result? Nothing out of the ordinary, except the oil sheared out of grade as expected. The same engine now deleted for the last 80,000 miles with a Bully Dog tuner and Banks this and that, has a 50/50 mix of 10W-30 and 20W-50...

Lake Speed Jr Called Amsoil Signature series Diesel oil a Group 3

So much for the narrative that HDEOs are not suitable for gasoline engines. I have UOAs that dispel that myth. Usually internet keyboard warriors and content creators with a cellphone on a stick have alternative motives, like trying to sell you something that’s three times the price. “Rev up...

Lake Speed Jr Called Amsoil Signature series Diesel oil a Group 3

Ya got me. Does that include Dexos R, or are you referring to resource conserving grades like 0W-20? $16 USD a quart is $320 a pail for a product that has no performance guarantees, is out of my price range.
