    Fellow BITOGers, convince me.

It is amazing to see the unjustified hatred for Amsoil some insist on displaying. Oh well, being accused of being a liar over an oil analysis (like I would have something to gain by falsifying an oil analysis) is better that being an idiot. Next time you make such accusations you might try...

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

I'm not looking for bragging rights. I simply wanted to share an analysis of a product that has served me well. I am not particularly interested in trying 25K runs on another oil. I was anxious to receive this report since it was a very long interval, with a small sump and no makeup oil. I have...

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

My engine has the element-in-block filter with the top loading hex-head top. I don't have the filter number right now since I don't have any on hand.

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

The analysis listed is from the end of my second 25K mile run on Amsoil 5W-30 HDD sampled when the oil was changed at 75K on the odo. I am currently 3K miles into my third 25K interval on this oil. Currently at 78K on the odo.

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

My previous posts were misleading. I am currently 3K miles into my third 25K run on this oil. The Amsoil use started at the 25K mark on the odometer. The miles are not easy miles. There are 7% grades between where I live and where I work. The miles my wife puts on are mostly city type driving...

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

My wife is an aggressive driver. She basically drives it hard and revs it high. I use the car 7 days per month to commute to my job, a round trip of 140 miles. There are numerous steep hills along the way. I rarely drive less than 80 MPH on my commute.

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

The engine still looks very clean inside the filler hole. Amsoil typically keeps engines very clean and sludge free.

    Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, 25K miles, 2003 Cavalier 2.2L

There was no makeup oil added. None. This car is very tight on oil. It was not down one milimeter during the 25K interval. The oil filter was a Wix. It went the entire 25K. This was the third 25K interval in a row, all with a single Wix filter, Amsoil 5W-30 HDD, and zero makeup oil. I am pleased...

Cummins - Fleetguard Stratapore Filters any good?

Lightman, I suggest you go with the Amsoil single bypass kit, BMK-11. The dual bypass is much harder to locate a place for, results in a larger pressure drop and routes ALL your oil through hoses. The BMK-11 kit retains the use of the stock full-flow filter and will allow you to use the...

    Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 in Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V-6

I don't understand why people are bothered by extended change intervals. Most of the people frequenting this forum would never extend drain intervals without utilizing oil analysis to ensure proper protection is being maitained. I think Amsoil should revise their recommendations to the tune of...

Here is an analysis on a friend's Toyota. 19,000 mileas on oil. 39,000 on truck. Full flow filter changed after oil in service 10,000 miles. One quart of makeup oil added at filter change. No oil usage. Viscosity @ 100 F: 15.25 cSt Iron: 20 ppm Chromium: 1 ppm Lead: 12 ppm Copper: 12 ppm...

Amsoil Series 3000 5W-30 HDD - Honda Prelude?

I have used this oil for 32,500 miles in my 5.9L Cummins diesel engine and it still had life left at that point. If this oil can survive the rigors of use in a turbocharged diesel vehicle towing heavy loads, it will work wonders in a Honda. It will do an excellent job and you can extend your...

Amsoil 5W-30 HDD @ 15,000 miles, Cummins Engine.

Bob, The truck had 65,000 total miles at the time of the sample. I changed the full flow filter and added a quart of makeup oil after the oil was in for 7,500 miles. I added another quart of makeup oil at around 12,000 miles due to usage. This was my second run of Amsoil 5W-30 HDD. I first...

Amsoil 5W-30 HDD @ 15,000 miles, Cummins Engine.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a great site. I think part of the reason the TBN is holding up so well is the desert climate I live in. 15% humidity is the norm, but this spring and summer I have seen many days as low as 8%. In a more humid/rainy climate the TBN would most likely have been...
