Ambient vs OIl Temp vs Coolant Temp

I think its spot on. The OT should be about the same as the WT when the thermostat is full open. Meaning a hot to warm day. On a cold day it should be somewhat below that. I'd not worry about it a tiny bit.

    1979 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

05, A chap in town runs a resto-shop for old cars. His latest is a '59 Ford Galaxy Skyliner ... the one with the fold up hard top. It was stored 42 years in a barn. He put some gas in the carb and installed a new battery. It fired right up and runs fine. Of course he'll go over everything in...

The Despicable Reason Behind Raw Milk Bans

The FDA and the State of Massachusetts are correct and responsible in banning 'off farm' raw milk sales and use. "Dr." Mercola is a sensationalist moron for suggesting otherwise. Pasteurization kills pathogenic bacteria which occasionally may be present in milk, including those causing...

Question about engine oil for my new Toyota Camry

1999, You didn't say if your Camry is a hybrid or conventional... If its a hybrid, it would be best to use the Toyo 0W20 due to the short cycling of the engine. Also, hybrids do not generate a lot of heat in the oil because they short cycle so high temperature protection is the least of...

Oil filter change help 2011 Toyota Camry SE, 4 Cyl

No problem running the factory fill / Toyo oil for 10K. It would be wasteful and expensive to change it more frequently. Let the dealer do the changes & they'll take care of the filter as well. I know your worry.... on the other hand, I've gotten over it and now let the dealer do the changes...

We Worry About Oil Far Too Much...

I just got back from dropping my friend off at a local repair shop that specializes in fixing and restoring old cars. The owner showed us his latest 'barn car'.... a '59 Ford Skyliner with the Continental kit! The Skyliner is the one with the folding hard top that disappears into the trunk. All...

    Meeting enigne manufacturer requirements

There's a difference between 'quality' and 'specifications'. IMHO, manufacturer oil specs are pretty important and I follow them. For example: my Benz OM-462 turbo diesel w/ particulate filters calls for MB spec 229.51, a low SAP oil. Ursa SP+ doesn't do it for this engine. Ursa is a fine oil...
