I did the same, though I used Castrol Edge 0w-20...but only because it was the lowest viscosity I had, and didn't realize until I had it on jack stands it required 0w-16.

I'm using it in the N63TU2 in my M550ix. But I think edyvw prefers the 0w-30 flavor ESP so I have accumulated a bunch and will be using that in my BMWs once I use up all the Pennzoil Euro L, Castrol Edge Euro and Quaker State Euro.

But Mobil 1 says their ESP 5w-30 C3/LL-04 is good for 12,000 miles....guaranteed. :)...
