PC Duron 5w40 2004 F250 PSD 6250 miles on oil

Been using Amsoil DEO 5w40 for a year or so but the prices have risen up sharply here in Canada and I was able to find and purchase the PC Duron for a decent price so why not. :) My driving habits are still the same since the truck was new, a lot of stop and go driving, with a fair amount of...

Amsoil DEO 5w40 04 F250 PSD 6250 miles on oil

My driving habits haven't changed since my previous analysis. Still doing the hwy run but the fuel contamination went up. I didn't change the filter after my last interval with ACD since it wasn't that long, not sure if that affected results much. Lead is up though. Iron per mile is same as my...

Amsoil ACD 30/10w30 04 PSD 2500 miles on oil

I decided to give ACD a try to see if the viscosity improver free formula would shear less in this engine. I didn't have the guts to run it the full 5000 mile interval and chickened out at 2500 miles. Same driving conditions as the previous oils. Pleasantly surprised that the oil only sheared by...

Amsoil DEO 5w40 04 F250 PSD 5000 miles on oil

Haven't done one in a while but due to the increasing costs of the XD-3 here in Canada, and the truck being out of warranty :) I decided to give Amsoil a try. It did very well I think, it definitely did not shear as much as the other oils I tried. Usage type is still similar, plenty of heavy...

    Question regarding sigs and quoting.

Maybe I missed the info, but have there been any new webboard rules implemented lately? I can't see my signature or anyone else's and I am not able to quote others' posts. Thanks for your time.

    Topic: 2004 F250 6.0 PSD, 8700km(5400 miles) Esso XD-3 0w30/15w40 mix

As usual, high fuel is showing but the truck runs great and the oil level is not rising on the dipstick. Without any symptoms Ford Canada will not look into the injectors. I can't alter my driving habits, I do a lot of stop and go with a 1-2 idle time so I guess I'll have to live with the fuel...

    2004 F250 6.0 PSD, 8000km(5K miles) Esso XD-3 0w30/15w40 mix

Due to my fuel dilution and viscosity reduction I decided to use a mixture of Esso XD-3 0w30 and 15w40 for this interval. I used 8L of 15w40 and about 6-7L of 0w30. Results are stil the same. The 15w40 was the new CI-4+ formula. The wear still looks ok, even with all the fuel dilution. Ford...

    Redline 10w30, 2004 Honda S2000, 6000 miles

Put this oil in mid November of last year, drove about 1000 miles until late December then stored the car for the winter. Started up normally in the spring, drove for another 5000 miles until this mid September. Car is driven hard, as it's meant to be with plenty of VTEC and 8400 rpm redline...

    2004 F250 6.0 PSD, Esso XD-3 0w30, 8000km, fuel increasing

Fuel rising to 6% at 8K km's.. Driving habits the same. Dealer says Ford Canada won't authorize any injector work unless I'm having symptoms.. which I'm not. Is the higher copper or sodium a concern?

    2004 F250 6.0 PSD, Esso XD-3 0w30, 9900km, high fuel

Once again, high fuel in the oil and lowered viscosity. Oddly enough though, the iron per km is lower, silicon is lower, lead is the same and only the Copper has went up. Any ideas? Do I have a problem with the injectors? I don't seem to be "making oil", my oil level does not go up throughout...

    GC 0w30, 10,000 KM, 2003 Civic

My fiancees 2003 Civic. Previously used the Honda 0w20 every 8,000Km. Honda oil filter. Car is used for longer trips to work and school but also a bit of city traffic driving. This is a winter interval, car is always parked outside with overnight temps hitting -25 Deg C. Now using the XD-3 0w30...

    Esso XD-3, 8700 KM, 2004 6.0 Ford PSD

Once again, a high percentage of fuel in the oil. This inverval was done during the winter with temps sometimes hitting -25 Deg Celsius overnight. I plugged in the truck whenever I could although sometimes at work that was not an option. The only change in my driving habits was that the truck is...

    Castrol RX 15w40, 2004 6.0L PSD, 4000 miles

Once again, fuel dilution seems to be the culprit of oil viscosity breakdown and high iron. From left to right, Esso XD-3 0w40 5K miles, Mobil Delvac 15w40 5K miles, and now Castrol RX 15w40 only 4000 miles. Total mileage on the engine at latest sample about 18,000miles. I changed the oil early...

This is the 2004 S2000 with the North American 2.2L engine that revs to 8400rpm and produces about 250hp according to dyno results, sump capacity 6 quarts, OEM Honda oil filter that's designed only for this Honda model with high flow capacity. Dumped the break in oil at 2000 miles, then used...

    FP and Amsoil cetane booster?

Would using both of these in my 6.0 PSD create and "clash" issues and possibly negate any benefits of each product? Currently using the Amsoil cetane boost.. but would like to try the FP also.

    Mobil 1 Delvac Super 15w40, 2004 6.0 PSD, 5000miles

Received my new report today. Decided to try the Delvac super 15w40 after the XD-3 0w40 sheared badly in the first sample. Truck is used mostly for hauling at work, a lot of stop and go, idling. The Delvac did not shear nearly as bad, although the fuel contamination is much less, still trying to...

    Long term effects of shearing?

What would they be and how long before they affect the engine, if at all? Scenario, the new 6.0 PSD in the F series superduty truck is very hard on oil viscosity. If you take a look at the 6.0 oil analysis study located here: Oil Study you will see that this engine, shears most if not all 40...

    Esso XD-3 0w40, 2004 F250 PSD, 5,000miles

I changed the OE fill at 6,000km and ran this oil until 14,000km. This truck is used mostly for work on weekends, hauling stuff in the bed. I do a mixture of hwy and a lot of stop/go/idling, about 800km per week. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of severity I'd say it's about a 7. I also drive in a...

Amsoil cetane additive - how much to use?

The bottle says it treats 100-200 gallons for a 3-7 point increase. For maximum "effect" it will treat 100 gallons. So by simple math that means a full bottle will increase the cetane by about 7 points in 100 gallons or about 3.5 points in 200 gallons, correct?
