Hi I just received new rocker panels for my regal. I would like to treat the insides with a encapsulator such as POR 15, Chassis Saver,or Eastwoods. Since the panels are painted by the manufacturer, for something like POR 15, should the existing paint be stripped first?

Hi A somewhat disappointing UOA. With about 5k on the clock I wasn't expecting lead to be high. BTW, this is the first GC this car has seen in several yrs. Mostly, it has been Penz Plat either 5 or 10w-30. This is what is in the car post GC.

Hi I was just at the local Wally, and found 10w-30 M1 "High Mileage". The bottle says it is a higher viscosity oil. It lacks the starburst and is SL rated. SM is not present.

HI In the past, these 606 engines were almost guaranteed for a LIM leak. How are the newer 60 degree 3500 V6s holding up? Since they were intro'd with the '04 Malibu, there must be some catching some serious mileage now.. Thanks for the responses.

Hi As I recall, the early 2000's were notorious sludgers leading to failure early in the cars life. Has this been fixed, and if so, what was done to alleviate the problem? Is it a matter of parts ( PCV system replacement), and can they be retrofitted to 2001 and newer versions?
