    GM 4.3 L 6 cyl - Noisy Lifters?

My 2002 ZR2 has a very quiet top end BUT I would bet the sound you are hearing is your balance shaft. The 96+ 4.3s had noisy balance shafts. It almost sounded like the bolts on the cat shield were vibrating a tad bit. This normal for these engines. There is a TSB for solving this noise but...

    projected tip spark plugs

Oh....I'd say about 10 or 15 times. And with a high compression Weisco piston it hurts even more. I learned to turn the handlebars to the left before kicking. As far as the seat-of-my-pants says...no but theoretically wouldn't it produce a more effient burn?

    projected tip spark plugs

Clearence isn't an issue. I have already been running them for about a month now.

    projected tip spark plugs

As long as the pistion isn't hitting the electrode, are projected tip spark plugs are benefical compared to regular plugs? I assume it leads to better efficiency having the spark closer to the piston? This is for a Honda 200X three wheeler. Standard plug the D8EA and the projected tip the...

Pan drop: Auto-RX Ford Ranger trans, 1300 miles.

That there is normal wear and tear, grey paste media on the magnet. As long as there is no big chunks of metal, your doing pretty darn good. Keep up the good work.

    6.4 Ford sludge

I know for a fact that the 6.4s had a recall about the radiator and hose clamps? The tech told me something about the radiator building up to much pressure? Could be something to look into? Also make sure the recall involving the PDF filter/regeneration mode is taken care of as well.

    1984 Honda 200X won't shift right

WOW this is a great running machine!! Just had it bored 040 over with a 10.25:1 Weisco piston. Right now Im using Brad Penn Racing 20W-50. I want the 50 weight protection because of the break-in process and high heat temps this little air-cooled engine produces. Great little machine that packs...

    1984 Honda 200X won't shift right

I was right. It turns out, the one spring on the shift lever fell off it's post. I finally got around to fixing it but in the process busted off the oil rotor! So now I am waiting on someone to find me one at there junkyard. Once this bike is running what is a good viscosity to run, 15W-40 or a...

    1984 Honda 200X won't shift right

My 84 200X, won't shift right. What happens is the shift lever feels flimsy and isn't catching any of the gears. When ever I try to shift up or down the lever won't come back to the center. Like I said it just flops around. When I'm riding, I can hit first gear, shift into second but when...

Supertech 75W-90 syn. blend gear oil

Thats kind of a relief considering both axels are filled with it as of yesterday. At about $5.25, it's a pretty good deal. My truck has about 87,000 miles now and I figured it was about time. When I cracked open the back pumpkin, there was alot of foam and water contamination. The manual calls...

Supertech 75W-90 syn. blend gear oil

So, whats the scoop on Walmart's house brand 75W-90 syn. blend gear lube? The reason I ask is because I'm going to be driving from PA to FL this week so basically I'm trying to squeeze every drop of mileage out of my 02 S10 ZR2. PS. I already drained and refilled both axles with this stuff.

    89 s10 blazer

With proper maintenance those TBIs were reliable and bulletproof. 3000 seems like a steep asking price though. I paid 3500 for my 91 back in 06 when it only had 60,000 on the clock. I'd have to say, those engines were extremely easy to work on in the case where something did break. The newer...

Amsoil in Engine and Diffs Increase fuel economy?

I too, have always been intrested in seeing the results when full synthetics are added to each drivetrain component of any vehicle. Converting each component to a synthetic lubricant would be quite expensive especially an automatic transmisson that holds roughly 15 quarts like a 4l60E. So my...

    6.4 PSD oil analysis

Hey guys, I'm not much of a diesel expert, but I do have alot of experience driving one. My work truck is a 2008 Ford F-550 with the 6.4L powerstroke. I have to say, this engine is quite the powerhouse. It hauls around a 1200 gallon aluminum tank used for pumping portable toilets. 900 gallons...

    synthetic gear oil for ZR2

I recently bought a 2002 S10 ZR2 with 85,000 miles. I absolutely love this truck. I have never been a synthetic oil buff but recently I have been contemplating the idea of using syn gear lube in both my axles with hopes of gaining better fuel efficiency. To me, it seems like the areas within the...

    1982 Honda 200 3-wheeler

Those Honda 3 wheelers are literally indestructable. We own two of them, a 185 and 200E Big Red. I'm never picky when choosing oil for these machines. Most of the time I just go through the cupboard to find whatever 30-40 weight oils we have left over. Most of the time its usually some type of...

    Cycle-RX question

I indeed have been to their website but these days anyone will say anything to sell their product. It's just hard to believe with all the snake oils on the market today that this one actually works?

    Cycle-RX question

Is Cycle-RX a good way of trying to raise a bike's engine compression. Reason I ask is because my tired 1990 Honda CBR600F was dynoed only at 56.7 RWHP. I think a little may have to do with jetting but thats like a 20 HP drop since it came from the factory. Thats almost like losing a cylinder...

Same oil I ran in my CBR600. Ran great!! Right now I'm using Delo 400LE but like mentioned previously, any HDEO will be fine for motorcycle engines.
