I don't know what your application is, but Donaldson and Fleetguard make extended drain filters. Donaldson's is called Endurance, Fleetguard is called Stratapore. Fleetguard seems to have more applications, but Donaldson's specs look better.

I don't think the heat transfer between the filter and the collar would be very good. The fit would have to be so tight that it would be near impossible to remove and install, and the painted surface of the filter works against heat transfer, too. Probably a waste of money.
