My sqeakey clean 01 4Runner has 76,000 (not even broken in) and zero issues or problems.
When I'm 50 miles from pavement I'm glad it was made in Japan.
I know of a couple incidents where Shaq did some really amazing things for kids with cancer here in Utah. NONE of the local NBA players even came close to the generosity Shaq displayed.
FWIW I can't stand the NBA but I respect Shaq.
I saw those pics before the link was deleted and she is now my favorite racer. If you prefer fat good ol' boys have fun.
I bet I can still parallel park better than her!
I installed them recently on my wife's 99 Soob Legacy and my 98 Nissan Frontier. They seem to be doing great.
The only bad belt I've encountered lately was an Autozone Duralast. It lasted 100 miles on my Nissan's air conditioning compressor. I'd stay away from those.
I did notice some belt...
Ebay kicks @$$!
Last weekend I bought $110.00 dollars worth of NEW Snap-On tools for $56.00 (including 2nd day shipping).
This is right up there with the 2500 vacuum sealer bags I scored for 11.00 dollars. Sometimes I forget to look for stuff on Ebay and I usually regret it.
I use Nod32. You can read about the AV apps at virusbulletin.com.
Very light resource use and it found a Trojan that Norton AV missed for who knows how long.
I can't see anything inherently bad with an inline 5. A connecting rod on the crank every 72 degrees shouldn't be worse than every 90 degrees in a 4. Since Mitsubishi's patent ran out on counter-rotating balance shafts you can probably smooth out anything besides a single cylinder.
I would only...
I've never had a 4x4 part fail except for a locking hub on my old CJ-5. I have seen a lot of busted, stranded vehicles with 4x4 but they were usually being used in a manner that I don't think they were designed for.
Some kid was literally jumping one of the square-eyed Wranglers going up a...
The particular blend of oil he used may be gone but he has nailed some good points.
Will anyone who reads his test still do 3000 mile OCIs? Not unless they're crazy.
Was the Amsoil thickening issue widely known before he tracked it?
Had anyone tracked a TBN reading like reading the sports...
Wix filters are excellent but why be such a cheapskate on oil with that nearly new truck?
If you want to run 5000 miles look to a blend like the Motorcraft (Conoco) 5w-30. Less than 2.50 a qt.
I wouldn't run all climate past 3K.
Be nice to that engine and you'll get an insane number of miles...
I asked some of the old timers who work on building maint. where I work and their impressions were Makitas last the longest. Milwaukees are next in longevity and DeWalts don't hold up as well as either.
These guys use their cordless drill daily and they look pretty beat up after a short time...
Toyota claims the fuel filter is a lifetime unit on my 01 4Runner. This is one of those manufacturer recomendations that I think are bad for the owner.
(Like Honda calling for break in oil to be run 5000 miles.)
I changed it at 30,000 & 60,000.
My 01 4Runner has the 3.4 and the automatic. I'm pretty sure the book said to replace the trans fluid every 60,000.
Maybe they use different fluids but I call on any "lifetime" maint. item. Like the lifetime fuel filters.
