Im looking at either of these in 195 70 14. BFG is 110 ea, Allegra is 85 ea with sale. Is there really any difference to consider? Im most concerned about city driving in winter (roads are plowed), tread life.

Aaarg, why can't I edit... The tire construction looks really good for keeping a stable shape under internal pressure - but maybe not so good keeping that shape under vertical load, so one might think the volume in the tire isn't the same with the car on the ground compared to car on the hoist...

I measured on a lift and off, and it was about a pound difference? More than I thought even.

On some new tires Ive gone to put on a rim, there's a dot near the bead, does that indicate the heaviest or lightest part of the tire? Should it go opposite or lined up with the valve? (Im not a pro, but I can use the machine)

I bought Proxes 4 last June, and they were made in Japan. I would guess their newer lines are the ones made in China.
