I've noticed metal shavings/other crap in the threads of many filters I've seen. it is so bad that I have to look through ten filters before finding one that is reasonably clean. Ac delco and motorcraft seem to be the best, but I've noticed this on mobil 1 filters, so it can't just be a quality...
