    Summer gas?

Somewhere I read last week that refiners were released by EPA from the usual June mandate for lower vapor pressure fuel due to COVID19 emergency. This was due to the fact that storage tanks are still holding large quantities of 'winter' blend gasoline. I don't recall that a new date was stated...

    Water heater on a timer?

The best thing you can do is to compare KWH cost with nat. gas cost if available. In OH the cost of nat. gas to heat water makes electric water heaters obsolete. FWIW. Oldtommy

Detonation, Now only at high RPMs

Nicat,--- To further explain; the design on the insulator is to remove heat in order to keep the CORE at the proper temperature to prevent preignition. The longer the insulator, the hotter the plug. when you have a shorter insulator. you allow it to dissipate the heat to the outside more...

Detonation, Now only at high RPMs

I did not read your first post. However, the problem may be that you could use a cooler range spark plug. Check the plug insulator to see if it shows signs of blistering. Champion spark plugs at one time had a good lesson on 'reading' spark plug problems on their website. At 4500-5000 RPM the...

    RIP Tom " Mongoose" McEwen

And don't forget Bill "grumpy' Jenkins that we lost last year. There was a tribute to ' grumpy' written by Shirley Muldowney in Hot rod magazine that told of the help he had given to her at the start of her drag racing career. Very touching. My son and I were regulars at Thompson and Dragway 42...

Using anti-seize on spark plugs or not

The best product I have found for anti seize is powered graphite. The kind that is sold for lock lubrication. Place a small quantity lengthwise on the plug threads and gently rub. It is a conductor so that it does not interfere with conductivity and is not effected by heat. Don't worry about...
