Anybody have a UOA or VOA of Citgo 5w20?

Jon, please post the results if you get the UOA. I am considering using Citgo 5W20 in our Honda. How long is your OCI with Citgo 5W20? Also, if you used Citgo last winter, how did the engine feel/sound at start-up?

Yes, the results are for TropArtic synthetic blend.

Exxon Superflo 5W-30, 2600 mi, Pontiac Vibe (1ZZFE)

Hirev, the oil capacity is 3.9 quarts, and during the TropArtic and Exxon OCIs I did mostly city driving.

Bill, No fuel dilution was indicated in the last two UOAs (Exxon and Havoline), but for the TropArtic oil (during the winter months) the fuel dilution was significant: about 2.5%.

Exxon Superflo 5W-30, 2600 mi, Pontiac Vibe (1ZZFE)

Alan, I cannot find GC in my area. I have in my garage Pennzoil Platinum and Castrol Syntec which I intend to run longer (5000 miles). kanling, both air filters are Toyota OEM. I considered buying a Purolator, but the Toyota filter appears to be of better quality. ucandoit, I have not noticed...

Exxon Superflo 5W-30, 2600 mi, Pontiac Vibe (1ZZFE)

I replaced the air filter halfway through the Havoline OCI. It seems that air filtration (which is the main reason why I did this last oil analysis) is no longer a problem. As far as the driving conditions are concerned, I rarely go above 3000 rpm, and I follow the severe maintenance schedule (I...

Pure ONE on a Toyota 1ZZ-FE engine.

I believe that PL14477 is the better choice (over PL14476). However, I would not use PL14477 on my Vibe to avoid possible warranty problems (both GM and Purolator can argue that I used the wrong filter). I used to think it would be extremely unlikely to have problems with oil filters - those...

    Purolator Premium Plus gasket

I have recently had a problem with a PureOne oil filter that started to leak. I don't know if the gasket was defective or something else. I replaced with a Quaker State filter.

    2004 Pontiac Vibe, Havoline 5W-30, 2400 miles

Not really. It was very mild and noticeable only when the car was stopped - no sign of leak when the engine was operating. I installed the filter, and my mechanic replaced it. We both inspected it, but could not figure out why it was leaking. This was my first PureOne filter - I have never had...

    2004 Pontiac Vibe, Havoline 5W-30, 2400 miles

This is my second oil analysis. Used 5W-30 Havoline GF-4 for about 6 weeks. Half of the miles were on highway, including a 650-mile trip in a day. Half-way through the OCI, I changed the air filter with a new Toyota air filter, and the oil filter - the PureOne started to leak, and I replaced it...

Toyota engine at the 5500 mi mark M1 5W-30

For my Vibe last winter's experience was not that great due to some fuel dilution and lower oil viscosity. Each engine is different, but you may want to factor that in when you decide the OCI. See http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=002421#000000

    TropArtic 5W-30 GF-4, Pontiac Vibe 1ZZFE

No, usually less than 1 minute. I wonder if the high silicone reading is really unusual for an engine has (only) 11,000 mi. The air filter looks clean (it's the original filter that came from the factory ).

    TropArtic 5W-30 GF-4, Pontiac Vibe 1ZZFE

I average about 5 miles per trip - I commute 8 miles one-way to work, and I also do some short trips of 2-4 miles. I am sorry, I overlooked the lead reading: 1.

    Advance Auto Brand Filter

I suspect that the Advance Auto Parts oil filter is not exactly a rebadged Purolator Premium Plus filter. They differ in multi-pass efficiency: for the Totalgrip AA4967 it is 94%, while for the corresponding Purolator Premium Plus it is 96% (according to the filter boxes). However, there is no...
