    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

The engine isn’t seized, car stopped from a clogged DPF before the oil fully gelled. The matter was escalated to VW Canada, and their response basically was they don’t warranty any engines which have sludge in them, they consider this a maintenance issue not a result of a clogged DPF. I...

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

He still has his Witt’s about him, he doesn’t do anything under the hood. He will usually ask myself or a shop/dealer to do it for him(even for Windshield washer fluid), which was why I was worried about possible sabotage.

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

I don’t beleive Rotella caused this, Ive been running Rotella in various applications for years and never had anything like this happen. Based on much of what I’ve gathered so far, it was probably the DPF clogging that caused this to happen. An analysis of the sludge will be sent to Shell which...

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

I was referring to the way the oil coagulated(texture and appearance) not the engine it happened in.

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

Pickup is actually really easy to clean on these cars, it’s what’s in the rest of the oil galleries that worries me

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

Pump pickup had some congestion, haven’t pulled the valve cover yet. I’m planning on taking a sample of the sludge to Shell for analysis

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

I did the last one at the end of April, at that time oil drained perfectly fine, approx 5 litres came out, I know this because the old oil went into the jug the new stuff came out of. I’d say since the change he’s driven about 6000kms(3700miles)

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

I’m honestly not sure how many miles it triggers at for Canadian cars. I would assume it’s likely the same as US but would have to check.

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

T6 in the VW community is actually considered superior to the VW branded oils. I spoke with a shell engineer a while ago about the VW 507, his response was it wasn’t worth it to shell to certify it for the VW rating(which is primarily because it’s got a DPF) because the other engines it was...

    Rotella T6 turned into jelly

Hey guys, my father has a 2013 TDI golf with approx 324000km(201324 miles). Oil used in the car is Rotella T6 and oil changes have been completed every time the counter in the car indicates the vehicle is due. Recently he ran into a no start situation which was diagnosed as a clogged DPF by VW...

Ok I've tried searching this website before asking this question, in case anyone gets upset, I'm wondering if anyones heard of a diesel race specific oil, I have a MK3 TDI which I've done quite abit of modification too, and I'm a little concerned about keeping my rod bearings intact I've tried...
