    Oil recommendation please

Thanks for the info guys. One more question if you don't mind. Where can I buy Rhino Ramps in Southern California? Thanks.

    Oil recommendation please

Vehicle is a 2000 BMW 528i. I am the third owner. Previous owner most likely followed BMW's recommendations of 15k oil changes. I will run auto rx in the vehicle asap. I plan to do my own oil changes (as soon as I figure out how to jack up the darned car). It sits so low I'm afraid to use a...

    Toyota Camry Oil Filter

Might I suggest the Purolator equivalent - PL10241 or L10241. Or you can also buy the Napa/Wix equivalent. These are all excellent filters. Good luck! Kiko

    New Camry Oil Change

Congratulations on your new car! As far as the oil change is concerned, you'll get mixed answers. Some, including me have dumped their oil as soon as we got the new car home. The reason for doing so is to prevent whatever dirt or any metal shavings that is in the oil from circulating inside the...

    SuperTech Oil Filter?

I bought an ST filter yesterday at the local Wally World. When I got home I noticed that the barrel has a dent on it. Upon further inspection it doesn't look like the rest of the filter has been damaged. No dents to the ring or the thread portion. Just the barrel. Is it still safe to use this...

Best oil and OCI for short trips?

I like Option 1. In fact I have the same commute as you. I live about 5 miles one way to work. Our vehicles (an Isuzu Trooper and a Toyota Sienna) do not get their deserved work out through the week but I make sure that on weekends they each get their share of a long drive (about 100 miles...

Finally!!! Castrol GTX Given the Boot......

I can certainly tell the difference after switching to synthetic from dealer dino. My van idles smoother, accelerates smoother and is significantly quieter. Or perhaps it's just that it's new oil in the sump. Regardless there is a noticeable change after dumping the synthetic in. My $0.02

Supertech filters good for 5k miles?

It's a stupid question but I'd like to know Supertech filters are good for up to 5,000 miles? Haven't used one of these before and I'd like to get a consensus before I do so. Getting ready to use it on a '04 Sienna and Mobil 1 5w30. It should last me through until February provided I don't take...

Mobil Delvac 1 vs Mobil 1 SuperSyn

Just saw this thread too. Will try Delo 400 15w40 in my '98 Trooper for my next oil change (about 2k miles to go). Like you guys I also have consumption problems and not to mention a leaking tranny fluid. Have to bring it in soon. Anyway, please post your findings on the M1 15w50. Thanks.

I found GC in Anaheim CA and left some.

You guys are making me hungry! It's a good thing there's an In-n-Out joint not far from work. Perhaps I'll drop by for lunch. I can smell the fries already.

I found GC in Anaheim CA and left some.

Thanks for the tip FLB. Will do a mini road trip up from Irvine to visit this AZ. Hope they're still there but I'm guessing they're not anymore.

Need to collect sample, Have no sample bottle. Help.

You can also use an old baby food bottle. Just the right size and you can seal the cap and wrap it in some bubble wrap and a small box and send it like that.

2004 Toyota Sienna - German Syntec

I hope it's not dirt either. Although I've done a lot of runs to and from Phoenix and Las Vegas in the middle of summer through some dust storms. I'll check the air filter for dirt and perhaps replace it or clean it out if it shows more dirt than usual. Very happy with the green elixir. Now to...

2004 Toyota Sienna - German Syntec

Thanks for the comments Pscholte. Now if only I could find some more of the green stuff. I think the auto parts people are hoarding them for themselves.

2004 Toyota Sienna - German Syntec

Okay guys here's the report I received from Blackstone Labs. It took a while and I was beginning to get worried that the oil was tossed in the trash by the USPS. Anyway here goes: Vehicle: 2004 Toyota Sienna Oil: Castrol Syntec 0W30 Miles on engine: 10,637 miles Miles on oil: 4,648 miles...

Toyota Sienna Van V6 Sludge Problem?

We got ours for $30k but we opted for the dvd player (kids) and the premium sound system (again kids). Very happy with the '04 Sienna - our first minivan. Very happy with the dealer experience too (strange). Currently at 11k miles so I'm doing the auto-rx with Pennzoil cleaning. After that it's...

Believe the hype: the GERMAN CASTROL is the real deal!

Ain't that the truth. I just drained the german elixir from the minivan and have been looking everywhere for more to no avail. I still have a few hundred miles left on my dino/auto-rx treatment so I'll keep looking. In the meantime does anybody have any extras they would like to sell? By the...

Toyota Sienna Van V6 Sludge Problem?

I think it will potentially have the sludge problems but that all depends on how you handle the oil change bit. Also it will depend on how the previous owner has maintained the vehicle. Another candidate for auto-rx treatments otherwise. Good luck!

Isuzu Trooper - Pennz 10w30 HM

Kumusta Pinoy99? Just want to know if the filter you used is oversized? What's the difference between that and the L14459? Might try this oil too someday. I have Mobil 1 10w30 right now and it is definitely using up oil. Also I think I'm detecting the start of a transmission fluid leak. Thanks.

Which viscosity Red Line oil for my trip to California?

Wishful thinking Mr TCar. You'll run into major stop and go driving at all major southern california freeways. You won't need 10w40 since it's still warm here. A good 10w30 would do. Drive safely and watch out for the state troopers along highway 40 on your way from the Grand Canyon. Give me a...
