Just wondering if anyone has ever taken an Amsoil bypass filter apart? I was curious on how they were constructed. I've seen some interesting pictures at Donaldson's filter web site and their filters look a lot like windings of string or cord.

Is there a link, or does someone have info on the different oil brands and how they are grouped? IE What oil/mfgs fall into Group III? or what oil/mfgs belong to Group IV and V? I would assume that the Group IV and V are a little higher up on the food chain/evolutionary scale...
