Did a piston soak on the 18 Kia 2.4L this weekend

The B12 soak completely stopped the oil burning on my sons 2005 Ford Escape with 200K miles. Soaked it over a 2 or 3 day period then did an oil change immediately, and another after about 10 miles.

2019 Ford Flex with Flakes in Drain Pan

If the vehicle is mainly short tripped, I would use a dino oil and change every 2 or 3K miles to get the water out. Synthetic is a waste.

Fram Ultra Air Filter Manufacturing fail

With the airbox installed on my Jeep, it would not be easy to see that it doesn't fit because of the angle it sits at. I think most would set the filter in and align the upper part that they can see easily and assume the bottom hard to see portion is also aligned. It may be aligned, but there...

Anyone else have a problem with Castrol Transmax Dex VI Mercon LV?

Nope! Last week I drained and flushed the ATF and changed the filter. Very little material in the pan and magnet. I installed a CarQuest filter (told it was a Baldwin) and used Triax Global Synthetic ATF. It now shifts perfectly, I think even better than before I had put in the Castrol...

Anyone else have a problem with Castrol Transmax Dex VI Mercon LV?

A few weeks ago I sucked out the ATF pan through the dipstick tube and refilled with the above fluid. Almost instantly it started shifting weird, delayed shift like excess slipping. Going from P or N to drive is also delayed then it clunks into gear. Fluid level is right where it should be...

Can't find an air filter filter to fit our fj

It looks like it seals to the housing lid, not the clean side of the housing. Have you tried putting it into the lid and checking that fit?

Fram Ultra Air Filter Manufacturing fail

Here is the same Fram 10348 (rear filter) compared to a WIX 49018 squared up between their boxes.. The WIX was the exact same size as the Carquest Premium. I like the Carquest premium better than the WIX because the WIX has a felt seal while the CQ Premium (and the Fram) has a rubber seal. I...

Fram Ultra Air Filter Manufacturing fail

In the picture below you see a Fram Ultra #10348 on the left and a CarQuest Premium 83018 on the right that fit my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. The Fram is too short to properly fit the Jeep housing and doesn't seal properly which can allow unfiltered air to bypass the filter. It isn't easy to see when...

Awesome, I'll be in on that. Thanks.

Harbor Freight 20 ton hydraulic press

The ones I see now have a strap around the vertical post from the press table so if you pull one pin to adjust it cannot drop out and fall. My 12 ton doesn't have that, and I don't think the older 20 tons did either.

Harbor Freight 20 ton hydraulic press

On really stubborn things I already see it flexing with a 12 ton jack. Don't want to wreck it, and now I have a vacation house so I can have one at each house.

I didn't see any of those sales in my area of San Diego CA. Are those sales regional?

Harbor Freight 20 ton hydraulic press

Has anyone ever seen these 20 ton presses go on sale? I have a 12 ton but am looking to upgrade. Been watching them for a while and other than a 10% off coupon, I never see them on sale.

Remedy for carbon buildup on intake valves? holding RPMS at 3k + for min 20 minutes?

Reminds me of the old Marvel Mystery upper cylinder oiler I used to see under some hoods. The cleaner is thinner, I wonder if one of those would work?

New Dorman oil filter housing/oil cooler installed on 2014 Durango

If the Dorman one continues to be made in the USA, I would stick with that over all the cheaper Chinese junk. I think when I do mine, I will remove the Dorman sensors and replace them with OEM, I hear the Dorman sensors are not very long lasting.
