With a new vehicle, properly maintained, in your opinion would there be more wear to the engine using a 5w20 over a 0w20? It would seem the 0w would flow much better at cold startup...Make sense?

Curious about change interval...Car is 2004 intrepid, 2.7...I use Mobil 1/or whatever synthetic oil is on sale for this car...I have an auto start, so the car spends some time idleing each morning for 10-12 minutes...My thought is 5000 miles would be about the safe change interval...Opinions...

Article on CNN online today...The guy donated his car to a museum in the Hartford are...Said the transmission had been rebuilt at 200000 mile , but salt had taken its tole on the frame...Would link it but, dont know how!!!

I will change the oil on my Blown 01Z next week....It unfortunatelly wont be driven till April...Using Mobil1 5 30.......Does the oil break down over the next 3 1/2 months....We do get some -20 weather....

Have a quart of 5 w 20 on my desk...It says ILSAC GF4/gf-3/GF-2..........Does this mean made from group 4 and 3 groups? Thanks

Very confused after reading several threads...I have been using Mobil 1 on some very high performance machines over the years, and my conclusion had been M1 was maybe a notch lower than say Red Line/Amsoil etc Now i don't know???

You had two similar vehicles, new, drove one with say Mobil1 , the other with a quality non/synthetic oil, drove these two vehicles in a similar manner , accumulated 100000+ miles on them, then examined the internal wear.....I wonder what the difference would be.....

Was wondering about towing with this vehicle...New vehicle last year with 22000 miles on it..It does NOT have the trailer towing packag..We are looking at buying a pop up camper which should weigh about 1200-1300 pounds...Would it be wise to use a synthetic transmission fluid in the vehicle??

Car is a daily driver / beater....Bought it with 40000 miles on it, seems well maintained...Have heard some horror stories about the 2.7, but my understanding is up to 2002 where the bad ones...SYnthetic oil, 5-6000 mile changes...Just wondering....
