To soon to dump factory fill?

In the company car (2008 4cyl G6) I ran the Oil Life Meter down to about 30% and changed it. If it was my personal car... I'd do it around 1k-3k. But the owners manual didn't state to do a early intial change, so being it's a business car... follow the business documents; owner's manual. I'd...

    Mobil clean 5k

Just switched over today in my Taco. Also installed my Magnetic drain plug and motorcraft FL400S filter. Truck takes like 5.5qts, I only had 5qts of Mobil so I had to add about 1/4-1/3qt of PP that I had laying around. But so far... no start up noise at all. The Mobil has a very distinct odor...

    2009 Challenger RT Oil Recommendation?

Use a Dino 5w-20 or Motorcraft 5w-20. Purolator or Wix filters and call it good. Follow the books OCI.

M1 15W50 EP is being discontinued.

wonder why nascar is qualifying with 0w-30 syns.... They a bunch of hill billy'ums. You only need enough HTHS to keep the 2 metal parts apart. Anything more is "OVER-ENGINEERING". Engineering in itself is a give and take. If I need to meet a 130mph wind code for a house, and can meet it with...

    Switching to Mobil clean 5000

I also have the 4.0 V6 in my taco. they all take the same. 2005+. You can run a L20195 or FL400S. The listing for the 4.0 from Wix & purolator is the old 3.4L shortie filter. In my opinion they are not cross referencing the filters right.

    Switching to Mobil clean 5000

yup. and the only DIESEL rated 5w-30 dino oil also from I could find. Granted, it's a old diesel rating... but hey, still has somin, better than no diesel rating I'd think.

    Switching to Mobil clean 5000

Was looking at dino 5w-30's this weekend for a few cars that I take care of. Decided to go with the Mobil clean 5k. I can get a 5qt jug at wally for $11 (vs $13 for YB) The oil is SM/CF GF4 rated and meets the GM, chrysler and ford specs for conventional oil. No other Dino 5-30 is "C" rated...

PYB for 5k or PP for 6k interval???

I've been on the fence with the same issue with my new Tacoma. Warrnaty on my truck and most new cars is 5k OCI's. So I understand where the original poster is coming from... PP is $23/5qt vs $13/5qt YB. Kind of hard to justify the cost for 5 or 6k OCI's.

V6 tacoma, 4cyl Suzuki, and 6cyl Lexus, Subaru. SO I guess whatever I can get on sale out of the ones listed. So far Wally is the cheapst not on sale. I might look at Costco or Sams club and look into buying cases to have on hand. As for the filters all cars are running (white) Purolators. I...

    Opinions/Recomendations

Hey guys. For the sake of simplifying my oil stock and everyone running 5k OCI's that I take care of (5 cars), what would you recomend: 5w-30 Conv Valvoline(SM), YB Pennzoil(SM), Mobil 5000(SM/CF). We all run 5w-30. All are on a 5k OCI. Which do you guys think is the better/best pick of the...

2009 Tacoma Gear Lube; Mobil 1 or Valv Syn?

Price is the same. $9.99/qt. The only difference is Visc and valvoline is Mack GO appproved. Looks like Amsoil ranked M1 higher than Syn Valv.

2009 Tacoma Gear Lube; Mobil 1 or Valv Syn?

I don't really care. It's Tacoma V6 Axle. Gear lube is gear lube. I've run everything from 80/90 cheapo oil, Redline shockproof oil... these difs are made for a warm 90wt oil. And when you go synthetic, you get the 75w-90. 75w cold. 90wt hot. Which is better than straight 90wt.

2009 Tacoma Gear Lube; Mobil 1 or Valv Syn?

Alright guys, at the 15k oil change I plan on dumping the rear diff, Tcase (4x4) and front Diff Lube out. I'm stuck between Mobil 1 75w-90 and Valv Syn 75w-90. From what I've researched the Mobil 1 is only GL5 approved. The valv is Mack GO-XX approved and GL5 approved. The valvoline's viscocity...
