How big is your stash, hoarders?

So I might have gone a little overboard. Although 3 regularly driven vehicles with a fair amount of highway driving and a project Model A. Still have some random quarts I didn’t feel like digging out and a handful of Mann filters for the VW.

Post your latest oil or filter purchase

Purchased yesterday on sale for future use in the new Volvo instead of 0W-20. Have some Liqui Moly coming as well. Once it’s here I’ll work on organizing and posting a pic of the hoarding stash.

2026 Prius PHEV Plan of action, point of interest, and thoughts.

Doesn’t Vancouver have a lot of stop and go traffic? It does in my experience but maybe not for your routine. I did an early oil change (1600 km) on our new Volvo and did not change the filter. Low iron and aluminum but a fair amount of copper in the UOA. Next oil change coming up soonish at...

Mobil 1 also has rebates going on. Website hasn’t worked for me though for the 2 ESP I bought a week or so ago.

Valvoline Restore and Protect - Shortage at Walmart?

Gotcha. I’m aware of geopolitical events, I’m just not see any actual shortages in person just yet. If anything, short on stock temporarily due to hoarding. Yes I am hoarding but I’ve always purchased excess in advance when on sale.

Valvoline Restore and Protect - Shortage at Walmart?

Just curious why I'm tagged? I'm well aware of the apparent shortage coming, but Canadian Tire usually has a lot as it's more $$$ than Walmart, but going on sale for a good price Thursday night. Walmart is hit and miss but it's usually on the shelves at some point. There are also 3 Walmarts and...

Not their website, through Amazon they do which I don’t trust and also not cost effective

Valvoline Restore and Protect 0w-20, 3.6k mi; 2025 Ram 1500 3.0L Hurricane - used oil analysis

I’m surprised you mentioned the copper, there’s hardly any in there considering how new the engine is.

Going on sale at Canadian Tire in Canada end of this week.

Trying Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w30 in my 2014 Honda CRV

I recommend you have a used oil analysis done and see if you really need such short intervals. Being in Canada I do a ton of idling in winter and short drives with our vehicles around town and used oil analysis hasn’t shown any issues.

How big is your stash, hoarders?

We have friends stashing tubs of stuff who are moving out of town this weekend. Once they’re gone I might have to line up my stash of oil and post a pic.

    Rotella T6 5w-40 15.8k kms; 2017 Ram 6.7L Cummins 143k kms - used oil analysis

Looking at Amsoil, EAO80 is $25 with membership, DBL7349 is 30. Locally at Traction, DBL is $36 I believe. Only problem going with Amsoil is I have enough fluids for all vehicles for 4-5 years at least 😬 and I don’t want to just order a couple filters from them. We’ll see though, no rush.

Change Amsoil Signature Series 5w-30 in low-use Xterra ?

How much were you opening the engine to fix the leaks? If there’s a chance dust got in while taking care of those I’d dump it.

How long does oil analyzers take for a sample?

I'm in commercial aviation, some manufacturers don't require you to pull samples regularly anymore. Some large customers may require it when they charter your aircraft. So that could one small factor. For my samples, I use the same company that we used to use for our aircraft as they do it for...

    Post your latest oil change

Yup and no real reason other than I’m sure it could use a little cleaning at this point. Doesnt really use any oil.
